To be honest, I didn't plan to write any news during these weeks, but while I read your comments I'm really suprised about how many watchers want to see again the original HUD from the wolf3d.
I'm suprised, because I think that the old HUD:
- blankets too big area from the display (the original HUD includes a dark-cyan frame around the display + a gross dark-blue panel ---> you can see the old HUD in our last video, if you don't remember correctly)
- includes unnecessary informations: the silhouette of current weapon & head of the player. Yes, I think the head is very unnecessary, because during the play you must focusing to the playing area, not to your head (when you drive your car you don't watch your face in the driving-mirror, do you?) I wrote some news ago, that the game will hard and killer, so you won't have time to gaze yourself.
- plus don't forget that in 1992 there wasn't widescreen monitors! (I think the old HUD could look so stupid on widescreen monitors)
...we make this mod for you, so I must to allow for your hopes. The only problem is that I haven't got enough knowledge to make this HUD and we have too much work with the actual goals.
If there is somebody who can recreate to 100% the original HUD (with some little changings) for the mod, than OK, we will use it (like an option for those who want to see it in the game)
One last thing: we need a source modeller who can finish some animation (spine-turning, aim-anims...etc. also need a good qc-file-knowledge...etc. he knows the others...)
