Ladies and gentlemen, SoftAir: Source 2008 is coming soon in an alpha release within this year.
The map I've been working on for about 6-8 months is almost ready. Some custom models and textures too, together with weapons' animations and the code. We are testing (enjoying to be honest) the game and we feel it's time to show something to you. Soon there will be a gameplay video showing some of the features of the game. While waiting for it, stay tuned.
Today I've posted a new screenshot of the map. The map itself is quite big and still need some optimisation, but the structure is almost complete. We are so proud of our game, and I hope you will enjoy it as we do.

Your brush work is very rough and thick, try to add more details and tweak some proportions.

thats quite true. I've planned to make the structure of the map first and then let my other mapper embellish it. However, the brushes will remain quite simple in some areas, because of the hugeness of the map jeopardizing an acceptable fps rate.

The map needs some detail sprites to make it extra yummy :)
why did you need 6 months for this map? doesn't look very detailed. I think you should work on this map for further 6 months :)
I like the style of the map, nice alternative to all the photorealistic maps.
to be honest, I'm the mapper, coder, sound artist etc of the mod. that's why it takes me so long. hopefully today a new active member has joined. waiting for others ;)
I sort of like how it's almost HL engine reminiscent though :P

I just hope you use real Airsoft sounds, gun names/brands, not the cheap Sporting Goods store crap.
