Corey shows off one of the new abilities coming in ICW and FotR.

For both Thrawn's Revenge: Imperial Civil War and Thrawn's Revenge III: Fall of the Republic, we're working on developing and fleshing out some new abilities rather than just having seventeen renamed and slightly different power to weapons across 2.2 and future versions. The first of these is single-Unit Retreat (or, in-game "Emergency Exit").

Corey took to his YouTube channel to give a rough idea of how it works, though keep in mind it's WIP. All the base functionality is there, but some of the extra stuff (disabling weapons and whatnot) isn't in yet:

I have this ability in my mod but how are you going to handle the AI not spamming this ability?

When the AI that use the ships that have the ability they tend to retreat as soon as they come in contact with my forces.

Also that's odd when you guys retreat the ship it's labeled as destroyed but for the script i have it effects repairs on the damaged hardpoints but not the destroyed ones and then after a short time it will appear back in the reinforcement tab and at the end of the game it's not labeled as destroyed.

The difference between what we've made and previously-existing Alpha Blue-developed single-unit retreat ability (I'm assuming that's what you're using) is it sends it entirely out of the battle and you can't use it again until you get back to the galactic level (as I show in the video), it doesn't just put it back in the reinforcement pool and let it be used again in the same battle, which is why it's classified as being destroyed.

We don't plan to let the AI use this ability at first, because we wanna be careful with how much information we have to pass between the galactic and tactical level. If and when we do allow the AI to use it, we'll have to develop the AI use-cases for it, which honestly shouldn't be too difficult.
