[Note] that there will probably never be that many enemies chasing you at one time, especially not of the same type like that but I did that as a test for my collision code, and to show off the enemy sprites.
Notes on Artificial Intelligence
I'm really excited for that boss there. He is a mini boss but will still be really fun to fight. I've been studying artificial intelligence the last week because the way the battle system FEELS is extremely important to me. I want the player to have total control of the battle. I'm looking towards Zelda: Wind Waker for inspiration on the battle system. I've even decided to replace my blocking system with a counter system similar to what is in Wind Waker. I'm very excited for this but it has also cost me about a week of coding because I've had to rewrite the AI.
List of Tasks Finished
- Rewrote the state system for the game (for both enemies and players)
- Added 3 new enemies
- Hired 3 GENIUS composers (Dalin, Pedro, and Stefan) (I hope to show off some mini music clips soon)
- Removed all solid object from the game replacing place_free with place_meeting
- Drastically improved the enemy state system
- Added in a simple enemy wave generator
- Fixed a bug with the size of the players collision mask
- Fixed an enemy generator bug that would freeze the game
- Added in grass
