Rising out of the horizon as a warrior raises his sword, the red sun glistened in the Pacific air, and today was forecast as a day of infamy, death and destruction.
As the sun rose, so too have we.
I would like to officially apologise for such a long absence on the update front, it really pained me during those months where we were unable to show anything off, as our Team has done a fantastic Job.
Our Japanese Arsenal was the first thing we needed to prioritise, and myself, Aidas and Chopin immediately set to work on improving everything we currently had ingame.
Arisaka
The primary rifle of the Imperial Japanese Army.
Updated model by WelshManDan, brand new high quality texture by Chopin. (Original Model by Aidas2)
Type 100
A SMG very similar to the British STEN gun, lightweight and yet powerful enough to be the Japanese primary SMG.
Updated model by WelshManDan, brand new high quality texture by Chopin. (Original Model by Aidas2)
Type 92 HMG
Serving as the Japanese' primary HMG in Pacific Thunder, this heavy piece of machinery was used in all major battles in which the Japanese Took part, and was a massive threat to Allied Forces.
Updated model by WelshManDan, brand new high quality texture by Chopin.
Type 97 AT Rifle
The Japanese have many pieces of equipment at their disposal for getting rid of Allied Armour, but one of their most effective methods is the Type 97 Anti-Tank Rifle. This is capable of punching into armour and disabling it.
Updated model by WelshManDan, brand new high quality texture by Chopin.
Nambu Pistol
One of the many pieces of equipment the Japanese Officer wields, capable of close range combat but overall not a brilliant weapon.
Updated model by WelshManDan, brand new high quality texture by Chopin.
Now, we move on to the more exciting stuff, Japanese Tanks.
Type 1 Ho-Ni
Japanese tank destroyer, capable of taking down a lot of Allied armour.
Model by LemonSong, High quality texture by Chopin
Type 95 Ha Go
This small Japanese tank wields 2 main guns on its turret, making it a difficult unit to flank, although not very strong, it provides good armour and weaponary in a reconaisance role.
Model by LemonSong, High quality texture by Chopin
Type 97 Chi Ha
The mainstay of Japanese armour. One of the only Japanese tanks capable of standing toe-to-toe with Allied Tanks, and sometimes even coming off better.
Model by LemonSong, High Quality texture by KnightofAmmo.
We once again apologise for such a long wait, we never meant for the updates development cycle to take too long, but we felt now was a good time to release the above images. We hope you all enjoyed this update, and stay tuned (I mean it this time) as we will be following up shortly with even more images, and also some gameplay just to show how far we have come.
We hope you enjoyed this preview, there will be more to come in the very near future.
Until next time,
Pacific Thunder Development Team

Excellent update!!! And as the previous user said, just ignore those ignorants that only rants because of the lack of updates.
Sometimes **** happens and most of the time you can't do anything about it.
originally when i saw this mod i thought "awh **** another troll" but after looking it over i gotta say, great job!
More high detail renders will be available tomorrow evening, ive had some troubles but they should be sorted by now, and they will be available in the gallery.
Incase anyone doesnt know, if you right click the images, and (Google Chrome) Open Image in New Tab, or (Firefox) View Image, then you will see the full size.
Finally another update. I gotta say though, that this was worth the long wait. The models are excellent, as are the textures. It'll be a good day when this mod is prepared for release.
omg, it lives! :D
Excellent work on the models and textures... nice update...
Where are tank tracks?
sorry to sound uninformed but i was under the assumption that Japanese armor lacks compare to allied heavy tanks like the Pershing. btw i like the weapons=]
Talking bout Shermans and Stuarts in mind, Pershings were not used in the Pacific...
The Ha-Go and Chi-Ha were definiteyly no match for Shermans (though they were equal to or exceeded comparable western armor of the 1930s). However, the Ha-Go was superior to the M3 stuart, the primary allied light tank of the early war.
The Japanese actually developed tanks that could go toe to toe with most allied armor at the end of the war, but only prototypes or limited series were produced. Most recourses were given to the navy. The inferiority of Japanese tanks was caused not by complete technological inferiority, just an uneven distribution of recourses amoungst the Japanese military.
Ohh man i was sure this mod was dead, i am glad i was wrong and i didn't stop tracking. Sweet update, keep up the good work.
Those tanks will receive proper camo schemes right?.
Because they don't look "fitting" for the enviorment.
They already are proper camo schemes, taken directly from historical Japanese Regiments which took part in Battles of the Pacific Theatre.
I will stay tuned as the sun will rise up again and again! :D
Super update! >_<
Pershings were to be deployed in limited numbers during the invasion of Japan, but there was really no need for them during the island hopping campaign. Tanks were of little use anyway, and both sides relied much more heavily on infantry than their counterparts in Europe.
Finally an update.
nice work.
