RISE OF THE REDS UPDATE #40
Welcome to our first 2010 update, we hope everyone has had a great holiday season and hope you have a great year! Now I know what you must all be thinking because it's common to hear this once you haven't updated in a mere 2 months. "Your dead!" "It's over!" "WEN?" well, I assure you we're out of our comfy little vacation and we're hauling ass like before. To confirm this we're here to show you a big update which contains some new units from the ECA, one of our major goals to finish in the following months. Plus we have a few surprises for you below so let's have a look shall we?

ECA A400m Transport
A rare sight in the European War it is unknown how many of these aircraft still remain or where they are deployed from. They are the primary targets of hotshot Russian Berkut aces that hound for these aircraft restlessly hoping to not only score a kill from one of the supposedly few remaining A400ms but also hoping to doing extended damage to European forces by destroying whatever it is transporting along with it.
The European Lynx APC is the workhorse of ECA`s infantry division. Despite its outlandish design, it’s very reliable and offers the best possible protection for the troops inside something essential in Europe`s terrain where ECA supply lines and reinforcements are prone to be ambushed by Russian gunships. The Lynx brigades had suffered heavy losses in the battlefield against the heavy shelling and armour piercing weaponry deployed by the Russian Army. As a cheap modification, armour skirts were installed on the sides to allow for greater protection against incoming projectiles. Although the plating isn't the best the ECA has to offer, it is the cheapest and ensures the Lynx APC can continue to serve as an inexpensive infantry carrier of the ECA.
Following the amalgation of the European Military strike forces within the ECA, endeavours were made to make the army less dependent off the USA in all aspects of modern warfare. Primarily, the lackluster airforce division had some gaping holes within it's tactical and strategic arsenal. The Russian Tupolev and american B2 and B1B strategic bombers were unsurpassed and there was nothing from within the European mainland worth a comparison. Matching these titans proved to be a daunting yet not unrewarding task.
An evolution of an early British Cold War pearl was uncovered and found to be more than suitable. This Delta Wing aircraft was mounted with modern aviation and military technology. The aerodynamic design barely needed any modification to fit the standards of modern precision bombing. The pioneering AVRO Vulcan bomber appeared to be a timeless design suitable for modern tactical and strategic needs, and Russian commanders have felt their grasp on the European skies challenged by the speed, maneuvarebility and tactical success of this new enemy asset. When battling with ECA Generals, the Vulcan bomber will be the harbringer of your destructive General's powers.
The Russian T80R Kodiak carries an experimental rail gun and it is the pride of General Aleksandr because it has made the Russian Federation the first nation to properly field rail guns in large scale warfare. Rail guns use magnetic rails to fire solid chunks of matter at hypersonic speed. Although rail guns are very powerful they have been known for suffering of a sharp loss of accuracy at extreme ranges. Aleksandr is currently experiment with different kinds of ammo but it is currently using an uranium charge that consists of two components: a shell of titanium and a core of uranium atoms suspended in plasma state. The T80R fires this powerful slug rapidly and efficiently being capable of piercing any armor.
The Werewolf lives up to its name. It is a deadly, agile and a savage predator. It fires its missiles at the juiciest prey and then lays down a rain of high caliber lead across the field massacring enemy infantry and just as it gracefully advances, it backs away when satisfied, disappearing into the night.
The American Blackhawk has operated in many scenarios all over the globe and has proven time and time again it is an excellent transport helicopter. Not only can it sweep the landing zone clean it can also lay down a barrage of covering fire for its passengers. The Blackhawk tactical transport helicopter is the army's unrequited quintessence of infantry insertion deep into enemy territory. During the war on the GLA, the multifunctional Chinook helicopters had been used to this same end. However this unarmed and expensive helicopter sustained heavy losses to enemy RPGs and Stingers. With the Osprey being impractical due to the fact that it, too, is unarmed, the Blackhawk was uncovered and reassigned to the army of General Thorn to guarantee enemy inquietude. It mounts an anti infantry minigun and arrives with eight rangers ready for aerial insertion.
The United States Airforce had long been looking for a replacement for the aged but functional Chinook Helicopters. It's long service record indicates how difficult it had been to find the right helicopter to replace the ninety year old workhorse of the Airforce. The Osprey program had been running for a considerable time now and the fruits it yielded were ready to be harvested. With mobility growing increasingly important in warfare against distanced foes across the globe, the CH-47's limits were becoming apparent. As a hybrid plane combining the virtues of both the C-130 transport aircrafts and VTOL heavy lift helicopters, the V-22 Osprey finally met its true potential and was found ready for widespread active service. It will be replacing the honoured chinook helicopters in supply and troop transport duties.

Here's a little something extra for all you fans out there. You see, during the making of the V-ss Osprey, we actually made three sets of skins for the Osprey for possible future variants or special in-game objects. Anyhow, here's a couple renders of them:

why is mac version of this game not out in the download window
In all honesty, I don't think we have an active Mac-guy on the team anymore. So I really don't think that there will be a separate Mac version anytime soon, but there are plans to include a Mac version eventually.
Though I've heard it's actually not that hard to install the Windows version onto a Mac. Just read this:

I am surprised that after what you showed last year you expect that everyone will vote for MOTY, just because you after 3 months show some things, and especially things which were already showed...
It's your choice whether or not to vote for our mod. Do we think we'll win? Hell no. We're a small team working on a small mod. It's a little competition that everyone's in whether you like it or not, so you might as well just run with it.
Small team, yes you are, when I dont calculate these 5 men. But small mod? Dont be kidding. RotR is one of the greatest mods for Generals, which is actually also the most slowest and most liing mod for Generals. But dont worry, you are not the worst team, this place is held by another mod.

so let me get this straight because i'm really confused. Is there downloads for rotr and shockwave for MAC??? if so, is there a tutorial vid for it?? The PC tutorial vid is great! And if there isnt any downloads are there at least new maps to add to the MAc version?? ok, ive asked way too many question. but great job for makin a great game better.
We don't have a dedicated Mac version of 1.5 at the moment, but we plan on making one in the future. Here's a little something that *might* help you get the mod installed on a Mac:

I wonder you guys are that laive about RotR. They showed after 3 months 7 units, but actually you knew about 4 of them. Blackhawk, Osprey, Werewolf and Railgun Kodiak are in the releases (Railgun Kodiak only as prop in the menu animation on the train).
Also RotR lie to you from the very beginning. When they release 1.5 without ECA and GLA, many people asked if they will be in, and what RotR said? "We never said that. it must be a rumor created by some fans." Like it was true. But there are many evidences that it wasnt a "rumour" and not created by "some fans", but a fact said by RotR themselve. And when a small group of men proved this, what RotR did? Did they admitted it? No, they still argued and said it is a lie, even there were a pure facts.
I really dont understand you, how you can "look forward for next update", when it will take next 3 months and even that, it will be something you already knew and see. And even more I cant understand, how you would even be pleassed from it. Really, I cant understand you...
Why do you think this is a major thing of concern, and why is it such a big deal anyway? The team working on RotR have a thing many refer to as a life, which is not a bad thing to have at all, so a lot of us knew updates would come later and we know it might not be out in a week. We also knew that when the ECA and GLA didn't come out, and whether or not they lied, SWR would rather make quality mods rather than through crap at the public. Also, if we know about something and then we see it later then we know they were actually doing something, and so what if it already came out? Chances are it has gotten changed somehow since the release.
When it comes to voting, it's not about number of updates, but rather if it's good and people enjoy it. That's why I voted and I'm sure many others did.
Now honestly, if you just want to get the mod and moan and complain about, no one is forcing you to stay on this board or play the mod, so you can just leave, especially if you are going to sit there and insult people who are doing this in their free time rather than 24/7, because they have lives away from a computer monitor and better things to aspire to.
Now you'll just look at this and think I'm a "brainwashed sheep following a sheepdog," or that I'm I "70-year old gay who can't get a guy or girl," like you were saying in September, SWR can't brainwash through the internet and I'm a straight 17-year old. Finally, it's not like you're insulting was daily, in fact you didn't say a thing for about two months so I don't think you have much room to talk about punctuality. Let me give you a hint, you're badmouthing over one thing that got you worked up isn't going to change a thing, and I accept the fact that this may not change you either, but if you don't mind I'd rather not have these boards become all about you hating SWR again.

Yes, I think you are brainwashed sheep. Or as I think, you are a dog, RotR a man and release (and whatever they say) is bone. They throw you a bone and you happili jump on it, but you dont care that its full of rotten meat. Because its not a big problem they dont included GLA and ECA in 1.5 when they promised, but that they cant admit it and even that, make YOU, a fans, a idiots which think its true.
And I am not alone, there is more like me which hate the SWR, but we like RotR, but you got now a straight-lined view, so you cant undertand it. but I say you, you will one day leave SWR dissapointed. Not that they will dont make any update in the time, but because you will see a truth throught their cloak of lies. Many other fans became a fan of RotR, and left dissapointed because they were full of energy and posted a ideas. Yes, SWR dont accept ANY ideas, but they act to these fans like they commited a guttural crime, like they killed someone. They cant say "Its nice idea, but we dont accept them, but its really nice, try it in another mod."

Do you actually know me and what I think about each and every day? No you do not. So where do you get off telling me exactly what I think? Like I said I'm not brain washed nor am I a one-track minded dog that chases after an imaginary bone. I instead know that if a release does not have everything we want or everything they say they were going to do it's because they had other things to do that demands more attention than your wants, which is the relation to real life. It can also be, as I had said before, that it's just not ready. As for feeling regret, I do not and I don't think I will. Why? Because I'm brainwashed? Absolutely not! Because I know and have accepted the fact that not everything we would like to happen will happen.
Now just so you know, I get you don't like them, I understand that there are others who agree with you. I know that if people like something then, inevitably, there are people who don't like the same thing in equilibrium. I get that and I can respect that fact. However, the fact of the matter I have been pushing is that the more you sit there and call me a mindless dog and a brain washed sheep and tell me I don't have a mind of my own, the more respect I lose for your side of the argument and the less I honestly care about it. So the main thing I'm trying to say is that I don't like it when you target the public, and have no respect to the fact that you insult someone's opinion. I'd also like it if the boards would remain as a place for mod discussion rather than you talking about your disapproval of SWR.

you know what.... i think you just ****** off because you didnt get what you wanted..which means you are a spoiled brat...and i think that the swr team is doing pretty good....so far no updates...but it not easy to make a good quality mod and live life to the fullest without some problems....so shut the **** up until you are doing what they are doing for you..as a matter of fact you oughta be real appreciative that they are making mods...because if they weren't you wouldn't even be able to play this mod or the shockwave mod(this is for V. Metallic)
