You both know that at the end of April, nor at the beginning of May, we plan to release the full version (we consider the actual downloadable release to be the pre-beta). In that sense, we told you that we plan as well to create a whole research tree.
Truth is, Mass Effect is a bit empty when it comes to researches for a space development. Therefore, we want to discuss directly with you to create a complex and realistic research tree for each race. In order to do it, we need your ideas, your schematics and so on...

What about the stuff you can purchase in ME2? The different upgrades for the Normandy can be incorporated into the tree.
Some of those upgrades were used in other ships than the Normandy.

at the field of the geth i has much ideas but my english skills are limited and i must work on my little project(nothing with homeworld a fallout NV Mod) but i will use some of my time to do it
ok why do u pheonix interactive have so much problems with the techtrees 10 minutes and i has got the half of the geth tree altough i has some language problems :p BE CREATIVE!!
We didn't ask you to add a complete tree. We just want our fans to share their respective ideas. Of course we know what we plan to do...

I don't know how things are but about guns why not build them as modules for some of the large ships.
Smaller ships could either get a weapon upgrade that changes or adds a new weapon or you could have more than one version of some ships, each one having a different armament, these ships would show up in the build menu.
You can even do a mix of these options.
I have an idea for the Alliance tech tree. In fact, Shepard's affiliation (Paragon or Renegade). For example, a paragon Shepard will enhance the hull or the speed of each ship like 15% (a sort of a believing bonus) whereas the renegade Shepard will enhance the damages made by the united fleet.
I agree with this as lore wise the larger ships are suppose to have broadside guns but in the current mod they only have a forward firing arc and what i guess is like 2-4 forward mounted guns in addition to there main gun when they are suppose to have around 40-50. Not to mention that they are also suppose to have torpedoes/javelins (mainly dreadnaughts i believe but still). the lack of Thanix cannons is also disappointing how ever can fit lore wise as they are very new and only a few ships have been produced/retrofitted with them.
Ok i actually just checked on the broadside guns as i though i was off and the Kilimanjaro class is armed with 156 broadside mass accelerator cannons, 78 on each side
I know that this is off topic but could you guys possible add a war assets system. Basically there are assets hidden around the map and if you find them they can give bonuses to your ships and production rates and the really rare war assets could give you a whole ship itself !
As to research then as others have suggest, you could for a start add the upgrades from ME2, this would ofcourse make those upgrades for all ships, it may not be true to the lore but you cant have everything perfect.

what about biotic shilling? Here is my logic, say you have a biotic on your ship and your under fire then the biotic can make an extra shield where you are most under fire which can raise your shields by a set amount say 20%? And for the reapers indoctrination where if a sovereign class reaper stays next to an enemy ship long enough then you can indoctrinate the crew and take over the ship would something like that work?
Unfortunately, the Homeworld2 ship code language doesn't have room for that. It'd be cool, but it's outside of the limits of this game.
