Firstly, seasons greetings to all!
The space-units-only demo is nearing completion, however it might now be released on Christmas Day instead of tomorrow (Christmas Eve). This was due to a problem getting the Romulans to work in Galactic Conquest properly, which set me back quite a fair bit of time.
The time lost was over trying to get the Tal Shiar Operative I had planned to work, the bad news is that for the time being I have had to disable it (the files will still be included, in case anybody wants to tinker with it), it was supposed to function the same way R2D2 and C3PO do for the Rebels, stealing technology, but whatever I tried, the steal slot that usually appears for the droids wouldn't appear for the Tal Shiar Agent, however when I switched the agent to the Rebels it would work, leading me to guess that the game might be hard-coded so that only the Rebels can steal tech.
I have however not given up completely given up on the system, and will at some point try and get the tech stealing Tal Shiar Agent working again. In the meantime I have given the Romulans the traditional build research station tech upgrade system.
Not bad with the delay, mate, I would also wait some weeks or months more when it helps to make the demo better playable. ;)
Hope you will get rid of the technology stealing issue. I'll keep my fingers crossed! :D

Apologies for the delay, I should have known better than to choose Christmas Day as a release day, the mod will be available to download during the course of tomorrow. Just a couple of very small tweaks to make before I begin uploading.

Could you make a ZIP file as well as a RAR? I don't have a rar extractor and I'd rather not download one.
Can do, for the updated demo version (incorporating the upcoming hotfix) I'll make up a zip version as well.
