yeah, but the fact it is set so late, and has chell taken, ruins most plans for anyone planning to use chell in mods.

Sort of looking forward to it :/ did anyone else notice in the first one that the main character was a HL2 model with different clothes. And that they used many models from HL2. I think portal should have been free, since it pretty much was just a HL2 mod. Anyway hopefully Portal 2 turns out well.
By that logic then most source games should be free mods.
Also I didn't notice that many props from Hl2 in portal. I saw a lot more in L4D and L4D2 however, so should those be free
Very true, but I've just noticed it is quite common in Valves games. Funny you say that about L4D because there is a MODDB group about how L4D2 should be a free add on for L4D owners. I'm not entirely against it, I just find it weird that they seem to be one of the only 'big brand' developers that seem to do this.
Don't know about you but if I had perfectly good models laying around I would reuse them to ;)
