Check out this HD art asset overview of the new art assets for the arena and some other awesome work.

This week for Overgrowth (which you can preorder here) I worked more on dressing up the arena with a few objects, like columns and buttresses. As many people have suggested, I would like to add shops around the base of the arena, and some platforms to fight on and around for the inside. You can expect to see some progress on that soon, but first I am thinking of doing some statues to add to around the entrance and maybe some for the roofs.

Putting together this set so far has been a lot of work, but I think it will be worth it, since it should be a major location in the game.

With a few extra tower and seating area models, it would be easy to make interesting arena variations, so I may end up doing that too eventually!

The amount of detail and attention this game is getting is incredible. (and yet, i think the characters need some work, they look so action figure stiff still)

I like the sound of the shops around the arena base. The game is so incredible because of its scale alone, I can't believe how much better it will be once the world is populated.

Nice textures, the coliseum looks too roman, well I am confused a little with the races because in others I saw more like german-middle age style or something like... whatever is something small.

But I have a real question... how many characters can support the game? I dont want to play with an empty arena, it will sucks really, or how many fighers can participate in the same time? it will create many lag? Let us know team of overgrowth, we have many questions about the gameplay, performance (and sometimes it weight more than the realism, watch out!)

I'd love to see some detailed frames on the outside doorways, just to make them stand out a bit more. But I think you've already taken that into account. :)

I think the fact that you want every asset to be reusable as a building block is starting to take it's toll. The lack of any curves in the design is just too apparent to me.

Hmmm... Will running be the only way of getting from point A to B? Or will you have stuff like vehicles, gliders, fasttravelpoints etc.?

I was wondering the same... seeing as characters are all animals, using an animal for transport like horses would not be very fitting.

Perhaps some particular overgrown animals can be "enslaved" as trusty steeds? like leaping frogs, blazing dragon flies, etc in a very intimidating beastly way...

You've been doing a great job on the Arena. It seems like the only thing you haven't considered making is pedestrian access to the stands.
