We are trying out a new weekly Overgrowth alpha format! David himself took some time to illustrate the traditional changelog in video form.
Don't forget that you can help support us, try out our weekly alphas (such as the one in the video), and chat with other preorderers in the Secret Preorder Forum by preordering Overgrowth.
Be sure to watch it in HD!
The features highlighted in the above video are as follows (among some extra ones thrown in for good measure):
- New Turner, Civilian, and Wolf character models, switch between them with the 1-5 keys
- Fixed "config.txt / defaults.txt not found" error
- Fixed rainbow footstep particles
- Character model switching exposed to script
- Animation retargeting for alternate character models
- Animation cache for retargeting and mirroring
- Starting XML file for attack descriptions
- Script comments from Endoperez
Thanks as always for all the support! See you guys in IRC and the forums.

Ugh so REALLY F**KING STRONG then. Brilliant
Wow, wolves are ******* badass! More wolf videos! :D
I'm guessing the fatal flaw of the wolf will be relatively low speed? I'd expect that in combat a Rabbit would have to rely of agility and speed rather than brute force.
Here's hoping that everything balances out in the end :)
Oh man. Need..to..kicktheshitoutofrabbits. Purchasing now.
Curb-stomp animation would help there :P
I have two things to comment on
First, will you create a combat mode \regular mode thingy? You know, to make animations more belivable while there is no fighting to do. If they keep stay in guard mode, that'll ruin the mood.
Secondly, probably you get that a lot but i feel like gravity is not strong enough. Models float too much if you ask me. That kinda ruins the action mood. I'm cool with heights they reach but they stay on air too long. If falling was quicker it'd increase the tension i think.
Overall, awesome quality. Glad to see these videos.
well, for the gravity thing, its nice like that because it feels if we were in some japanese kung-fu movie ( like crouching tiger hidden dragon)
and for the combat/normal mode, nope, i think it will be like Lugaru (its predecessor), they will exit guard mode when they didnt have hit something or beeing hit for some times
The wolf is ultracool, I can't wait to see it with animations fitting for a wolf. Huge feet, though.
I deffinitly gonna buy this soon every alpha looks so awesome. I love the wolf he looks awesome gonna kick some *** as a wolf :D.
loved it.
Sorry for being such a dirty mind... but the Wolf's tail looks like... a ... well I won't say it, but everyone that reads it will probably see it if they rewatch the video.
Anyway, good stuff :P
Exactly what I was thinking haha.
I don't see what you say, i see a simple tail, what they could do is give to the wolf some tail animations or physics just like the rabbit ears.
But overall fantastic work guys and i will preorder soon.

For sure they could make it more FLUFFY because the way it looks now is the way it looks when it's wet, with all the hair on the tail slicking to the tail itself.
now i can't unsee it... :(
By the way, so what are the races/animals that will be certainly included other than the rabbits and wolves?
it will also have cats, dogs and rats
wolves rocks!
I'm sure this is just because it's in Alpha, but the models seem to teleport up when the fall down, like there is no get up animation.
I thought they were supposed to be dead by the time they fly into the orbit :P
Nope, they turn into ragdolls each time they get hit. And yes its because its still an alpha, there is still no animation when they get up from ragdoll
I want a lynx, please :3
