As you are probably all aware, it has been a while since the last patch and even longer since the last Road to the Future post. We decided to create this RTTF not only to give you all an update on our progress, but to release a new map. On top of that, we have some new developers to introduce. Lastly, there will be no Q and A section as we want to focus on showing some media.
Lately, we have been looking for an advanced C++ programmer who is willing to put forth a long term commitment to the RnL Dev team. I say this because some of our previous programmers have dropped shortly after their Rite of Passage assignments and we are looking for some really dedicated people. It is also a big plus if you are familiar with programming in the source engine. Also, as always we are looking for anyone skilled in one of the following categories: game artist(modeler, texturer), 2D artist, animator, and level designer. For more information and to apply go here(RnLJobPage).
There are two new developers that I would like to introduce:
James "Volcol" Chilton - Modeler / Game Artist
James has been with us for a while, but with the lack of updates we haven't had a chance to introduce him. He has modeled, UV'ed, and textured the much anticipated FG42. Here is a render of his FG42 after the modeling stage.
Christopher "Tank" Davis - Animator
Chris has re-done the bomb planting animations and is also in charge of reanimating the machine gun actions. We are glad to finally have another animator to get these jobs done.
You have diligently waited for news news on the next release and don't despair as there has been a lot of work done during this delay. The list of updates so far for the patch seem to be the length of a short story in my standards. Our reasoning for waiting this long is that we are hoping the next patch will be a solid and bug-free(within reason) release. A date for the release cannot be given at this time, but be aware we are still working hard on it and will give you more detailed information when we have it all ready. In the meantime, here is some information on work that has been done since patch 1.5.
First on the list of news is a map release. Some may consider this a re-release, none the less Toni has ported Daniel's (aka Huri) Adenau over to the Orange Box. The download link for this promoted Beta map is below. Put this file in your "...\Steam\steamapps\SourceMods\RnLBeta\maps" folder.
Semmel has fixed his map rnl_falaise and ported it to the Orange Box so that it will become another official Beta map. Here are some screenshots of this great map courtesy of Semmel.
Felix told us to mention that there will be some big news coming from him dealing with another map. It has been getting overhauled and finished for a later release. We have mentioned this map in the past, but it won't be named until Felix gives the okay.
Eero has been on a re-skinning spree lately. He has been updating the skins of the MG42, G43, in-game GUI, and a collection of props. We will show more of this later.
That is all for this RTTF. Stick around for the next update!
Finally! Its great to see RTTF again and its looking good as always. Now just hope that 1.6 is one of our Christmas presents. :P
Personaly I dont like Adenau at all, but good news for those who love it.
Great to here some news from my favourite mod :)

Thanks god u guys are still here. I tought the mod was about to die. It would be a sad sad day.But you are still here, and working a lot for what it looks =D
Good job, this is one of the best mods ever!
You guys from R&L should have more comments than another. I don't know why a lot of worse mods are more popular.
i want more people on! hope to see more updates from you guys!
This game should be next to be put on steam for how much potential it really has to grab a large group of people looking for the next source mod. Other then that keep up the good work with this game.
What do you consider advanced programming skills.
Advanced object-oriented knowledge in C++, preferably with prior knowledge of the Source SDK.
Great work.
I might say that RnL is a game that is more than excellent for anyone nostalgic enough about the old good ww2 shooters and for all the new kids how lost this great period of gaming. Yeah I talking about MoH.
Yeah baby!
Sadly another mod where the art department totally rocked (for the time, now looks fairly ugly and outdated in many areas), but whoever designed and implemented game play just did a terrible job.
