Howdy all. We've got a couple of treats for you. We've been working very hard and put together a brand new website, which you can check out over at Project-rise.org. Secondly, we would like to show you some of the things we've been working on.
Rise is moving along pretty well. We have been slowed down a bit by real life™ issues and some unforeseen problems with the CryEngine2 framework. As said in a previous update, our armors require a complete rework of the character rigging and anima tion. This is not a simple task by any means, but we’re getting there now.
Since a few weeks we have a fully playable game – a CTF framework, the limited ‘LT’ armor and weapons, jet and ski physics and a couple of maps to play on. We are working hard to refine the game more and more and make the game a lot of fun to play. We’ve been testing Rise with a very closed group of people whose feedback has proved valuable. Once the core elements of the game are fun and are working, we will let you know about (closed) beta.
As for the future: After LT is fun, we’re moving on to implement the other armors, weapons, and various game mechanics that we’ll be telling you about in the future. We also still plan to shift to Crysis Wars, the standalone multiplayer game that comes with Crysis Warhead. Unfortunately we still have to wait for the Crysis Wars SDK to be released.
Now that things are speeding up we would like to expand. We’re especially looking for more coders and concept art talent. If you can do coding, drawing, texturing, modeling, level design or various other tasks, don’t hesitate to shoot us a message. We’re always looking for new talent.
Thanks for all the support and take it easy out there.
