Okay, so...
Sorry for not having posted anything new as of lately. I underestimated how busy I'd be this year.
But not having put up any new animations or screenshots doesn't mean that the project is dead or that I have stopped working on it.
Since that 'got my laptop back' comment, there's been a bit of a struggle with it, really. The guy I sent it to only did a low-level format at first.
One or two weeks later I was getting crashes again.
Finally, he replaced the hard drive. But the laptop insisted on crashing- this time a compatibility issue with Windows 7. I personally took care of updating this baby to 10 and resolving remaining driver problems and I can now gladly say that everything's been stable for the last month or two.
To the mod.
As I said, I'm still on it. Been experimenting a bit with Max Payne 2 which gave me a few ideas on how to go forward with this project. I've been working to solve something that's been bugging me about this mod for a while: hand models. If I want this to look good, using the default hands just won't cut it. And for this purpose, I've been poking around with the default skeleton. Having successfully introduced a modified skeleton to Max 2, I've learned how to take an existing skeleton and add bones to it.
In fewer words, this means that if everything goes well I should be able to slap the Max Payne 2 hands into a new player model+skeleton for better looking animations.
However, as my Schedule is currently looking pretty grim, I can't promise any dates; just assure that I'm not planning on dropping this any time soon.
I'll take this chance to say thank you to everyone watching this.
Thank you.
- ALT out.
PS: If enough people ask for it, I could tidy up a bit and post a link here to an unrelated personal minimod. It's not anywhere near finished, but should be fun to play around in the meanwhile.
Well, I'm just glad you are still around. Nice to hear this mod ain't dead either :)
Good to hear
Nice to hear from you again!
Great to hear. This will be awesome. Waiting patiently. :D
