This week's update written by Dman757!
Welcome, today marks a red letter day! We have worked tirelessly these past several months putting together a once seemingly unobtainable goal. We present to you, for your viewing pleasure, in game screenshots! All of these images were taken in the map "nmrih_citylife" which was created by 2d_Chris.
Screenshots!
First up debuting our to completed characters Wally (on the left) and Molotov (on the right) As well as a little flesh eating pet. Taken with the firstperson view of our machete weapon.
In this second shot you get a better view of how our flashlight mechanic works. As other players will able to see each others beam of light, shadows and all.
Next up you can see our in game screenshot of the fireaxe weapon. You may also notice a few unoriginal props but keep in mind all these images are of our work in progress game!
Finally we present you with our flashlight! Remember these are in game shots all the shadows are a result of the players shining lights on each other.
Stay tuned for more in game shots to come as well as some videos. We are currently working on our zombie animations so hold tight.
Feel free to meet with the community or chat with the developers on our IRC or Ventrillo channels.

I thought this mod had died before hl2 was even released! Awesome to see it's still going strong.
Actualy it has died, several times, but it keeps comming back from the grave. Like any zombie mod should.
Hope to see a release this year, have been waiting for this mod for like 5 years
Ooof!
Probably the most awesome update ever! :D
Awesome flashlight!
Seeing this really brightened up my day hehe
Good media release
I'm not sure on the game mechanics. Is this going for a sort of Brain Bread style game play?
No, it is quite different.
I guess what I'm asking here is - what is the game play like?
Nevermind. I finally found a thread on your forums that sheds a lot of light. Gotta say I love the concept, and you really are shooting for "the perfect zombie game," at least in our own opinions. I hope everything works out just as planned.
Here's the thread - Nomoreroominhell.com
Nice job ! Screenshots are awesome, weapons is very good !
so is it more like a CooP game or mor Player vs Player O.o
It is you vs. zombies, with other players in the mix. You do not start together, and you only work together if you choose to. "Friendly fire" is always on. You survive best with other players -- but be wary, for they cannot all be trusted. You might be killed for the gear you have, or your new "friend" might have recently become infected, ready to die and resurrect as a mindless zombie at any moment!
could you plz tell when there will be a beta released or the first version of this mod because im really excited and you have been in development of this mod for over 4 years!
When the beta is out, we will let people know. We will be starting closed testing within a month.
We have not been in development for four years. NMRIH has been around for 6 years, but we started from scratch in January and our mod (this version) is literally only seven months old.
I can't wait to play this mod. It's going to be amazing.
Also, it's quite funny, not even Valve managed to get players to see eachothers flashlights. Or well.. too lazy to do it. Great job guys! Done some great progress lately!
I WANT IT @_@
This update is huge. Not only does it (hopefully) finally squash all the beliefs that we're completely dead, but the fact that we have a game that WORKS, FINALLY, after almost 6 years of me being here (On and off the team, time and again), is huge. Personally, this is a huge motivator for me. I've finally seen our project come to life. And, well, it's awesome.
Geter done.. :)
Congrats to the new team and starting over!
freaking awesome =)
Interesting.
You guys actually got it working.
Still, ill wait and see if you guys die or not now.
Gonna be the best mod to come out for HL2 IMO.
this mod looks awesome by every updates. keep it up.
looking very cool!
looks awesome guys. Can't wait for the public release.
in reply to the comment that Valve couldn't get other player's flashlights visible. They did it for performance reasons. It looks great but if you have 40 zombies on screen and your casting shadows for all 40 of them.. and you have 4 players with flashlights, that's 160 shadows to cast. That's very expensive even on the most hi-end machines. Not to mention that shadows on all the prop objects...
Wow, great work. I interested in see those flashligts in action.
great news
This mod reminds me of that Orion mod, it may not ever come out to us. Looks great, but where's the love?
We've only been working on it since January. Calm down.
Sounds awesome! The screenshots remind me a lot of L4D; a great sign!
Love what you guys have been showing us so far. Keep up the good work..
Oh and please don't let this mod die.. again.. :P
Looking forward to playing it.
