Have no fear, development is still going strong in Sapience.

C-zom here, Lead Writer of Sapience, to talk to you about this mod some more. For the past few months here at Dark Craft Studios we've been recruiting a lot of new team members. All about our team can be found by clicking our name in the main Sapience page. The good news is (and there's no bad news!) that as more and more seats are filled, Sapience development becomes more and more organized. Right now we're about 15% done with the mod as a whole, thoroughly spending our time drafting the storyboard blueprints, level design documents, optimization on existing pre-alpha levels and recruiting more members to help with the work load. This is why things haven't been too active on the media front. As we tirelessly audition voice actors and expand Dark Craft, not as much is spent on polishing up Sapience enough to show you guys.

Right now we're allocating work load to all team members and releasing in-house "monthly" dev builds, updating Sapience chunk by chunk. This isn't the best strategy in the world for making games but its helping us evenly distribute workflow while we expand the team. We have thirteen playable levels in the campaign for a total of about 7 hours of game play, so its a full fledged campaign. The script is about 210 pages in length with a lead cast of four fleshed out characters. We're also going to have custom sounds, guns, music, voice acting, art for loading screens and skyboxes, textures, materials--and so much more.

So its my pleasure to tell you guys its all good. Sapience is being talked about and worked on daily, and will probably be released late next year for you all to play. A media blowout can be expected in March, including a new trailer, voice acting clips, samples of the story in PDF short-story form and so much more.

Hope to speak with you all soon,

C-zom, Secondary Developer & Lead Writer of Sapience

Glad to hear that you're coming along nicely, and 15% completion is no small number for a mod that's been on moddb for such a short time! The 210 page script and 7 hours of gameplay sound awesome, I'm definitely looking forward to this.

can't wait for the new trailer in March, the first one was awesome!!

nice to hear to that it will be such a long mod, 7 hours give or take.
those are the mods i like, not those short ones that take 45 mins or so!

It depends on the quality, I prefer a 45 minute classic to a 20 hour snore. That said, quality and length are good things. If it's good, more good is better.

I'm interested in to see if they can pull it off, and if they go indie after that.

Or maybe they/some of the teammembers get hired by Crytek if this turns out to be really impressive. Which of course would be awesome.

7 hours of gameplay is 1 hour longer than Crysis 2.
