A fellow Moddb user named Sherbert_Looking sent me a playlist of youtube videos of the mod, so I thought that I would advertise them here. (With his permission). Enjoy.
As for Version 1.4, its going to be a few weeks before I release it. Most of the large mod changes are in 1.3, so right now its more nitpicking over stat changes than reinventing the game. I've seen a lot of comments/questions asking for things like civilians, or map changes, or new weapons. As much as I would like to add civillians, or remove the invisible map walls, or add new rifles, I can't. Ubisoft did not provide FC2 with any sort of SDK, and the one that I am using for the mod isn't exactly what the Ubi dev team built the game on. Possibly one day I will be able to unlock the secrets of the Dunia engine, but I'm a long way away. Version 1.4 should be coming soon, and I have had some success moving my damage/ammo changes to multiplayer.
Thanks for all the support for the mod, its great to see so many people enjoying a game that seemed destined for a life of $5 bargain bins.
An excuse to play through far cry 2 again? yes please.
Mod looks interesting. I may pick this up for my next playthrough of the game. Sherbert_Looking has skills.
There's more youtube videos in older news posts, too. I liked these videos too.
Have you looked into changing the Malaria mechanic at all>
Loving the mod so far, only problem I encountered so far was that when I use the cell phone 70% of the time no one talks. Everything else feels amazing, just wish you could add more content. We all know you can't, but maybe someday.
Very interesting indeed, seems to really improve the game.
Glad to see you are progressing. I'm on my first run of Far Cry 2 and I'm enjoying it greatly as-is, but will probably use your mod or try to mod it myself for a future second run. Is there any documentation on how to do the mods that you're doing?
For now, can I pretty much see what you're up to by unpacking your mods and running a diff against the unpacked game files?
I'm considering going in a different direction myself, not sure if it will be worth sharing, because I think I will probably try to make the game harder.
Message me if you need help with the SDK, it will be interesting to see what you come up with.
I will, but in the meantime, I'm having a pretty good time with the base game! I am playing at the "Hardcore" level, which is pretty easy so far, I wonder if the game will ramp up in difficulty, or if the "Infamous" mode is just some "enemies are godlike" ******** difficulty.
Do you think you can edit the bolt action rifle to not kill unarmored opponents in one hit? in the vanilla game you can pop someone in the ankle and they'll fall over and get carried to cover by another guard(if you're hidden). In this mod shooting someone in the ankle just kills them. Great mod other than that
Cam you disable glowing items in your mod?
