Yes folks I'm releasing the ModDB toolbar I've been working on on and off for a few weeks.
As I'm not really a coder in any sense this toolbar is basic at the moment (only version 0.1). The current features include.
UPDATE (5:50pm GMT 15/2/05) - Fixed Mod search not finding mods.
UPDATE (1am GMT 15/2/05) - Added Show/Hide button.
The show hide button can be accessed in the firefox customise toolbars section by right clicking the main toolbar and choosing customize. Simply drag the modDB toolbar show/hide button where evr you want it (NOT on the moddb toolbar). It will rember which bar u used last on hide but wont rember if u hid it on closing the app yet .
- Switchable toolbar - switch between search and nav bars for quick access to what you need
- Search bar - search mods news members and forums.
- Nav bar - Quick access to most used links
- Nav Bar - QuickMod - simply enter the mods ID in the field and press enter for quick acces to mod. (you can open the mod in a new tab or window simply by right clicking)
Its not much for now but I find them handy enough for a release simply click the image above then click instal to install the Toolbar (a restart is required , will work with v0.8 + of FF)
For those experiencing problems with installation earlier the issue has now been resolved
Enjoy.
Stuffie
im getting some error with firefox :/
Yeah, Firefox says, and I quote:
Unfortunate, too :(
Same here :(
its fixed .. id linked the installer script to modbar instaed of moddbbar all the b's n d's confuselled me.
works now sorry for the probs enjoy
It's too big...I'll download any smaller versions, though. It just takes too much space off my screen.
Nice work, though.
does it have the words on ? if so u may need to disable text and images, for some reason it doesnt do this by default , just right click the main ff toolbar select cutomize and change to icons only and choose small icons, its pretty smaller then.
Yeah, it had words and text, but it was huge.
Awsome. How about something to show your alerts?
Filler, something like this used to exist, I dunno what happened to it.
how do u install it? :p
u click on the link then click install FF should pop up with an installer thing.
Btw Dan ive added a hide button as you can see so u can hide it when u dont need it.
if its really bad?, how do i uninstall it?
nevermind that, but i installed it, but its not here, arrgh!!, oh iam using firefox 1.0
sorry iam an idiot, you can just go ahead and ignore everything i said

"u click on the link then click install FF should pop up with an installer thing. "
i click it and it wants 2 download
im using Crazy Browser
ill try IE
same in IE, wants 2 download!
when I search for mods useing the toolbar it never finds anything but when I use the search from the site it does.
how hard would it to port this to netscape 7.2?
loox nice but its missing crucial thing that'd make the toolbar incredible and that's ModWatch link :) (or entire ModWatch section handled like bookmarks to mods would be even better) and maybe option to auto-login of course. but good start :)
option to leave it hidden by default and big icon for Firefox main toolbar
well its ok, but the dropdowns are realy huge at my FF
Will there be an IE version?
Yea, an IE version would be great :D
No IE suxx :P.
black_hand there all on my list of todos :)
I put the hide button in my bookmarks toolbar so ive never thought about a large icon . That will be in next relese.
grasn - Theyre ok on my resolution (1024*768) havent tried anyother res
@Hunter - Its for FireFox and will not work in anyother browser.
For the others It works fine in FF1.0 i dunno why ure getting problems.
If you post screens in Moddb.com
i might be able to help you.
In the next version i hope for it to be smaller and save your preferences on exit.
Im sorry for the difficulties so far .
...for that mod watch maybe u could use RSS system. i see that moddb has basic RSS system alrdy but not RSS feed just for mod watch (if ive missed that, correct me pls). if ure on friendly terms with moddb i doubt youll have any problems with that and creating such feed would please many other members anyway i bet :).
Ive fixed the mod search problem and tweaked some little issues.
Please uninstall and redownload (update might work but i would count on it). Sorry for the issues , it is my first time coding something proper.
i have been wantin something like this for ages! oh well!
can you make a simpler versios
