Just like in v3 you can now watch mods be notified when they update and see the mods you are watching by clicking the update link in the top left corner of the screen. Mod teams can also see how many people are watching their mod via the profiles "statistics sidemenu" and click this number to view exactly who is watching. Also thanks to the all new v4 POWA, we rolled out the following enhancements:
- v4 allows you to watch games, engines, groups and members - not just mods anymore!
- v4 shows you the most popular games, mods etc you are watching
- v4 allows you to browse and search what you are watching, and who is watching you
Enjoy the update and as always let us hear your praise and complaints.
Lots more coming, all this will be running the next few weeks:
comment quotes :O
It is the only tag that works in comments. I felt quotes are important but everything else just distracts from what really should be a pure text field.
Well if links tags worked it would be great too you know. Especially for groups.
Yeah, bring back proper links.
It's especially stupid when you're literally prevented from posting them. This is the internet!
Oh yeah, no formatting.
I don't know if these restrictions are a good idea at all. Did formatting ever harm anyone?
I... don't think modwatch is a new feature. Still, great to hear that v4-everything is coming soon.
They just put it back.
Great, we can watch members to!
that will really help me in stalking more than one person on here. :D
People can see who is watching them remember. So its hardly stalking ;)
HEY HEY, its still stalking, its just not very secretive....
Yay modwatch. Now how about personwatch, groupwatch etc :)
Nice come back of watching system. Some people really work their *** off right now :D
It's great that you're really listening to what the people want :)
just curious, will you guys change the search system back so you browse mods under games and not genres/types?
Most likely but the problem is what happens when we list 2000 games?! The dropdown list becomes too big and is totally unmanageable.
well, there are ways around that, like could just have it so people can select on their profiles, what games they want to view mods on etc.
sort of like before I guess.
Also, can themes be changed back to, something of how far the mod progression is, like on V3, you could select Internal Alpha, Beta, Released and unreleased etc.
Themes could just go back to that.
hmm...
Like jiffy says its great that your listening to us, the genreal mass of modders an' all, and v4 is coming along nicely. Everyday i log back on and thrs new things happening, v5 in the pipeline ? ;)
Let us get 4.1 out of the way first!
how about team members on mods page?
Yes please bring back the Team Members list. I thought it was good feature in v3. Most mods are a community effort!!
This is why groups was created so your group can release mods and get noticed.
We use the Team Member section, to list some of the guys that had keys rolls in the mod and what that roll was. These guys work hard on the mod and deserved a little recognition for their part. Team Member section made it easy to do this. And was on the homepage for visitors to see.
I do not see anything in the Group homepage that would do the same thing, give these guys some recognition. If I write up a post it would just get bury eventually.
But think mod homepage is the place to give recognition to the people that made this mod.
We'll have a chat about this as staff, see if there's a way we can make some group members comfortably fit into the mod's page. I'll probably be an option along the lines of "Show group members above level xxx on mod profile".
Create a group for your mod team and add the people to that. We'll work on a way for you to put the important people directly onto your mod's profile.
That would be nice improvement.
Thanks for listing to the community and good luck with improving the site!
Keep up the good work!
Don't know if you have to go that far. Just be nice to have a window the mod administrator could edit to list team members and there rolls. And not deal with any permissions with this window. It just be a list the admin would have an option to make.
We did found if we want to give someone permission to add and edit content on mod page, we have them join group then set there permission of what they can add or edit in group, carry over to mod page. Still learning how to set things up in v4. ;)
great job :)
i hope not :p cant wait for the V4 forums :D
make it your #1 priority :D
and i miss the smilies :(
Forums are pretty much sharing the top spot with PMs.
You don't read my blog entry do you? ;-)
Mod teams are replaced by groups. See my blog for why and how best to use them.
Great news !
Now it's starting to look good. Glad you guys also fixed the white text.
Mod watch + mod comments = snel hest
Eh... I aint read all the comments so I dunno if this has been asked before... But... Where can I view the Mods I've previously decided to watch via my own personal member profile? And when I say "Previous" I mean Pre-V4..! lol... I can see who is watching My Mod... But Not The Mods "I Myself Watch" if ya catch my drift?
Please Advise! ;)
Easy - go to your updates page (Link at the top of every page, next to your user name) and then either look in the "Updates Watch" box at the top, or the "watching" box at the top right of the page. In these are links to each type of thing you are watching (In the "Watching" box just click the number). These pages show you everything you're currently keeping track of.
YOU fav mods? DID YOU CALL ME A FAV MODS!?
Ever get the feeling you're being watched? :p
I do, but nobody is watching you. You shouldn't feel a thing :D
Glad to have it back, nice work :-)
My mod watch list just got cleaned out for some reason...
More like hundreds of features you guys removed and we want back, am I right? :p
Will we be getting links to the mod and the game it's for back for news articles? 'Cause it's the only thing that's really been bothering me about V4. Apart from that, keep up the good work, V4 is made of awsomesauce!
