Moddb should of done some sort of party in melbourne, australia (where it is headquatred it seems, as the contest uses laws from victoria australia)

Or at least had a stand at todays Game expo held here.

Don't wanna play down the huge amount of work that certainly had to be done to organize this, but still: Where did the award for best story go? At the moment this immensly important part of a larger mod is not rewarded. Yet a lot of good mods build upon an atmospheric and deep story to make the mod fun to play.

Everyone involved in this year's MOTY: Don't get upset because of negative criticism. While it seems unjustified, let everyone have his own opinion. ;)

There doesnt need to be criticism. When I created this I did to promote mods and the value they have. Today is the same. Intense and the guys worked hard. If you find your self upset I think a new hobby is needed.

Yeah, sure, and you did your job real well, as everyone of ModDB. (no sarcasm here) Just look at this year's sponsors. So as I said, I don't want to downplay the success of this.

Yet you have to distinguish between constructive and destructive criticism. While destructive criticism is, as always, entirely unwanted (I'll second you there), constructive criticism can serve to bring about improvement. And I do not seem to get why caring about my hobby and wanting to help you the only way I can would make me have to abandon modding. Feedback, even criticism, is a sign of interest, but you seem to be taking it all too personal.

But perhaps it was just a misunderstanding. I am not "upset", as you put it, and I certainly didn't want to appear like if I was. I am simply interested. And lastly: I can only imagine what stress the MOTY team has to be dealing with, but in any case, keep up the good work! You are doing one hell of a job!

Not exactly what I ment, i.e - I wanted to know what mods are leading in the votes.

That being said there seems to be an awfull lot of votes for mods that are unreleased, I think that's very strange, after all who knows what a mods like just by looking at some nice screenies, it's a bit like judging a book by it's cover in reverse, as when you come to play the actual mode it might turn out to be not very good at all, & I include my own unfinished work in that statement as I might think it's great but others might think it's crap when they come to play it. ;)

Anyway, that being said I wish you all good luck with your entries. :)

@ Halloween - We definitely won't show who is winning, because that would totally ruin the awards show itself, because everyone knows who will win beforehand.

It's practically common sense that we wouldn't reveal that information.
