CHICAGO, IL — Nov. 03, 2010 — We are creeping back from our deep, dark developer holes to announce an exciting new business partnership. Today marks the official announcement of Spiral Game Studios, Inc being accepted into Microsoft’s BizSpark program.
About Microsoft BizSpark
“Launched in November 2008, the BizSpark program is designed to help accelerate the success of entrepreneurs and early-stage startups globally. The program provides fast and easy access to current, full-featured software development tools and platforms, and a connection to over 2,000 BizSpark Network Partners – including university incubators, hosters, government agencies, investors, consultants and financial institutions – all with a common goal of supporting entrepreneurship. “
We are excited to incorporate the new toolsets, software and other applications that we are now able to utilize from this partnership. With state of the art technology, software and now a great new outreach for investors and future collaborators – world domination doesn’t seem too far off!

Why do all game companies I know, are trying to dominate the world? Valve, Bungie, Spiral...
Thats some nice News! But i have one generell question: do you use the UDK or do you really have licensed / are going to license the full UE3 engine? Because if you would use the UDK, i wouldnt see any advantage of beeing in the BizSpark programm! :)
Right now we are using UDK to develop the earlier builds.
In early 2011 we will be switching over to the full / purchased UE3 license.
That being said, however, ORION: Prelude isn't our only companies endeavor - just the main focus of them all right now. BizSpark is rad :)
Interesting, hadn't heard about Bizspark before now. Congrats on getting accepted into the program.
That seems to be the general consensus from what I've heard. Seems more like a quiet / underground platform. I am hoping this news post helps make other developers / companies aware.
