This weekend Meteor Pixel, the team behind Bushido: Feudal Warfare, met up at the premier UK PC and Indie Gaming festival- Rezzed!
The show itself was fantastic, with a lot of really passionate people showing off their games and joking about the day-to-day struggles of a small-time developer. We managed to speak to quite a few other indie's and, based on what we saw, the future looks bright not just for indie games in the UK but world wide.
Some personal highlights of mine:
- Meeting Dean 'Rocket' Hall, the lead developer for DayZ (he now knows about Bushido!!)
- Playing EtherOne and getting to use the Oculus Rift
- The Project Eternity developer session
- Getting to chat with developers from all over the UK
Before leaving for Rezzed on Saturday morning we managed to publish our first video, showcasing Karesansui- our new 1v1 duel map.
Here are some still's from the video:
As you can see, we've used some of the existing assets already built for our first test map. We're now having fun and working out how we can use them again in new and exciting ways to create different environments.
Rezzed has really given the team a boost, and we're ready to keep working on Bushido and maintain the high-quality that we hope sets us apart from other similar projects.
The next couple of months are going to be pretty manic as we switch from the standard UDK to the new Chivalry Beta SDK. Although its going to be a lot of work- we can't wait to get our characters and weapons in-game and push forward for the Alpha phase.
Thanks for everyone's continued support!
Team Meteor Pixel
Keep up the good work! Can't wait to see some in-game characters and weapons :)
Dean Hall knows about ur mod!!
then u r famous
Thanks guys!
This is just bloody amazing. I am hoping an alpha release is close. Sure, mainly because the mod looks fun and awesome, but also because I genuinely would love to playtest the mod and (hopefully) contribute to the development by submitting bug reports, etc.
Thanks! We're working hard at porting things into the beta SDK at the moment, as well as developing a new artwork pipeline from new tools we've licensed. Basically, we'll be able to put these to use for more variations of objects and better quality in our textures.
And as for alpha - We'll certainly have news posts on this as we develop, make sure and subscribe to our page to stay updated! ;)
Thanks for the support!
This is great to hear. I do intend to regularly check this page and I will definately be following the development of Bushido!
We appreciate the support! Thanks :)
