It's been a while since we've last updated and we felt it would be insulting to our watchers to just leave it as it is without saying a word. Over the last few months progress had slowed to a crawl and with it, motivation, to the point where it bordered on becoming a chore as opposed to an enjoyable experience. As such, we are officially declaring this mod on indefinite hiatus and apologize to fans of the Warhammer 40k universe as well as Men of War players who took interest in this attempt to convert an excellent strategy title into the brutal universe of WH40K.
Men of the Emperor: Burning Horizon development
NOOOOOOOOO
Sorry mate..
I know this feeling... I actually never played Men of War, I followed this mod just cause Chompster was doing hell of a good job, but it´s a shame anyway :/
but maybe you´ll get back to it, or come across a new game where you could use the assets. anyway, thanks and good luck in future
I really hope so as well. But with only 2 people doing it all and a mountain of work ahead of us it'd be unrealistic to get it done anytime soon.
That sucks to hear. However, we can't blame you if the passion and enjoyment faded away. Good luck in the future; maybe someone else could use the work completed so far?
And same with Seregruth, actually. Never played MoW - I thought maybe this mod might be a reason to pick it up.
Oh i'm still very much up for continuing the mod, but it's exactly that that we're missing, someone else. If we had more people to help, and actually stay for longer than a week or 2, then i'd be all for picking this back up.
EMPEROR DAMMIT
These are very sad news, is there anyway you could atleast release what you got done so we could atleast play around with it in the editor please? :c
oh sorry didn't see the download.
You all have my sympathies.
Sometimes you just reach the point where it just doesn't seem worth it. Hopefully you can rediscover your passion (ugh) sometime in the future. :)
Yeah the finish just seem so unrealistically far away with just the 2 of us working on it that it didn't seem plausible.
Real life situations aren't helping much either.
But yeah i hope i rediscover it as well, thanks!
Here we go, another brilliant mod died, and yes i said died as every time a mod went on hiatus it never came back. This is a sad day for the Imperium :(
It is indeed. I'd hate it when i saw other 40K mods go down and also though "oh look another one that didn't finish" but working on one makes you see things very differently.
Our issue is that we have so much work to do on this project. Converting a WW2 RTS to a 40K requires pretty much a 100% revamp. And with only 2 people working on it, in the long run this gets very demotivating. Both Luthorian and i had zero experience in what we've done so far prior to offering to help the mod which also added to how long everything took.
What i'm getting at(again) is that we simply NEED more people to help otherwise it just isn't realistic to expect to finish this mod(or wait another 3+ years..)
What exactly do you need? 3d-modelling, scripting, texturing, mapping, exporting or all of them?
I know some 3d-modelling and texturing but I do not know how to import them into MoW or into any other game.
That is propably what holds me and most of the people joining to help any of the mods, we would be just a burden to teach through.
To get things rolling again the number 1 priority position that needs to be filled is someone to export/import models into MoW. Vehicles, soldiers, static weapons, props all of them.
Secondly would be mapper/mission/scripter. This is somewhat held back due to the 3d side of things as they need props to make the maps but there are a certain number of items in vMoW that can be reused(placeholder) and still look semi-40K-ish.
After this comes a texture artist and 3d modelers. We have A TON of models ready to be textured up(properly) While i can of course do some of this myself, as shown before my textures are somewhat lacking but they get the job done nonetheless.
The lack of documentation on how(especially exporting/importing) things are done is really something that's holding this community back from becoming something much bigger and better. A big issue with MoW modding in general really.

As far as I'm aware, these are some of the very few detailed documentations on exporting something to MoW. But they only cover vehicles unfortunately. This what Luthorian used initially to learn to export things to the game.
Yeah really sorry guys, but we just can't keep going with just the 2 of us doing everything. We've asked a bunch of times but people don't want to step up, and those that do don't seem to stick around too long.
So really if you want to see this continue the best chance you have is to pick up MoW moddin yourself and make it happen. Otherwise chances are slim. I'm willing to continue on it if we could just get more people to help.
c'est quoi la version du mod parce que quand j'essaye de l'activer (option-mod) ca me dit : ce mod necessite une autre version du jeu donc j'aimerai savoir quelle version il faut telecharger pour pouvoir jouer a ce mod
