great update as per usual guys
Hey the link to the full newsletter or clicking the newleter isnt working for me, has anyone else had this problem?
Yes we are now aware and I'm trying to get a hold of our ModDB guy to fix it. I hope he isn't asleep yet other wise may have to wait awhile. The version on our frontpage of our main site works though.

awsome
not a fan of the pulse laser. It obstructs the view (in the video at least) & doesn't stick with the player's firing point, it looks more like a fast rail gun in q3a.
I don't see the need to say other teams are leaving & you're "saddened." (especially since you say they're "great mod teams" but then say "cannot handle managing a team and lead them through the difficulty of developing a game for everyone to play". You guys got a pre-release SDK, & lots of support from Crytek, not everyone else did) Many mods switch engines based on videos/specs months before a game is release making claims about what it can do. Odds are these guys didn't like the way crysis worked, found it crap for their needs & want to use something else that doesn't require as much work to use.
EDIT: the whole newsletter as a graphic is kind of hard to read. Any way it can be formatted HTML? Takes a while to load too. 2mb!
Hey Friar i remember you from the Doom3org forums i think :)
Anyways what you say is spot on. As for the actual laser asset we are toning it down big time and we also have 3 different actual colors of it and the red is HELLA bright, it was really recent that we put it in and are all really excited with the effect itself.
Also what we said in the newsletters regarding losings teams from Cryengine were due mostly to losing colleges to work with! Also there have been many shots at crytek for lack of support and we just really wanted to express our feelings on it. Hell we've switched engines twice before finally landing in CryENGINE2!!
Finally, we would love to do the newsletter with html only tbh, the only issue is that we only have one full time website guy that would do it. The lead artist is VERY fast in photoshop so its just faster for him to do it. I'll be sure next time to include a link to the txt only version with links to images.
Thanks for your post, you have been around awhile and I respect your opinion.
So it got quiet here, is this mod still underway?
