The Pirates, Vikings and Knights II team proudly announces our first ever mapping competition!
This competition will have 2 deadlines. The first deadline will be for submitting your name and map idea into the competition. To do so you will need to make a post in this thread. You have until Valentine's day (Saturday, February 14th) to get your map name, game mode and a short description of the map into the competition (One map per perseon, if multiple people work on a single map, one person will need to be chosen as the 'lead' mapper). You may choose one of two game modes to use for your map, Objective Push or Territory.
After the 14th, two forum Areas will be added and contestants will be granted permissions to post threads in them. From there you will start your own thread where you're free to detail the progress of your map and recruit beta testers. The map is to be completed by March 20th, the first day of spring. By this date, the map should be downloadable and ready for judging. The contest will be closed and the PVKII team will pick the best from each category based on Appearance, Balance, Creativity, Optimization and Fun Factor. The finalists will then be put to vote by the community and a winner from each category will be selected.
Prizes are still to be decided. Through the help of our community, we've gathered a few donations and will be putting them to use for the competition. Cool prizes may include Steam Games, PVK T-Shirts and other things. Also, if you're interested in sponsoring this competition, please email me at crazytalk(at)comcast.net to discuss the details.

Also, there's just a few days left in the Mod of the Year competition! If you don't know how to vote for your favorite mods, Here's a few easy steps: (It takes but a few seconds to show your favorite mods' teams your appreciation!)
Step 1: Visit Moddb.com
Step 2: Scroll down to the First group of titles called "Best Released" and click on the game your favorite mod falls under (Ex: Half Life 2)
Step 3: Scroll through the Alphabetically Organized list of mods until you reach the mod you're looking for (Ex: Pirates, Vikings and Knights II ;) ). Click the Vote Button on the left side and you'll see the following:

You say that the modes may be Objective Push or Territory? So that doesn't include Booty? Or does it?

No booty, there will be two categories to enter as, Objective Push or Territory. Winners will be selected from each category.
