After much development on all fronts, it's with great pleasure that we can finally bring you the 1st trailer for X32i.
The teasers we released back in July and August were made to do exactly that, tease. This trailer aims to present some of the preceding storyline for the game, as well as showing off some gameplay from a cinematic perspective and of course, all the hard work that has gone into developing the numerous assets required for creating this trailer. Having now been through this process and seeing how things will turn out once all the assets come together, we've learnt a lot from this process and it will help us greatly in our development of this project.
If you like what we've done, and like where this mod is going - please vote for us in the Mod Of The Year Awards at ModDB.
Thank you for your ongoing support. As development has picked up pace significantly, we will be able to bring you more content in the coming months, eventually working towards a working demo of X32i.
Awesome o_o
That was a pretty sick trailer, commentary was amazing, and of course everything looked beautiful. Keep up the good work.
Really good work.
So will this mod be multiplayer? It seems like it would make a great multiplayer space mod.
very nice. excellent voice work
'This was to be an nightmare with no awakening, and... No apologies.' fix that las line and it would be perfect! :D But really that was a work of art. I voted you MOTY.
What's wrong with the last line? (for future reference :)
Thanks for the vote!!
Timing was a little off in how it was spoken. Sure we can get that dealt with if it becomes a problem later on however. Probably just a slight misread of the line :)
For anyone looking, this sort of stuff often gets picked up internally, so the likelyhood is if you point it out, someone else has haha
Totally awsome. I don't really know what more to say.
awesome trailer
The music is really outstanding, good job!
The very first bit reminds me a little of Freelancers intro music. Awesome :)
Thanks, Our composer Gareth Coker worked very hard on this, and we're very lucky to have him on the team :).
Outstanding video! Almost cried. Thumbs up for great music!
BTW, if you want to make excellent space simulation, look up to the outstanding Nexus: Jupiter Incident and I-War.
Freespace is excellent game (it took all the best from other older games), but its still just an arcade space simulator.
Freespace 2 / Tie Fighter is our benchmark, thanks for the nice comments anyway :).
... Wow. Yeah, you just gave me a reason to vote you Mod of the Year. This was one of the best trailers I have ever seen, hands down. You should hire your guys out! ;) Especially to other mod teams.
I was disappointed not to see the larger frigates/cruisers use their gunnery, but ah well... Perhaps in the future. =P
Great work.
Noooo they are my modellers :P.
I worked on the scene and cinematic, Gareth worked on the entire audio side of things, and then you had people like Ben, Phil and Bernard who made the models.
We are a fairly small team, 10 of us so far.
gratulations, x321 seems to be the most outstanding mod of crysis
just two questions:
1)will it be a mod, or are you going to release it as a full game??
2)MP mode??
keep up the good work,
web
1) As it stands it's currently a mod
2) Yes, however details will be sketchy as we figure out what we are going to do with it, but there is a lot we can do, it's just balancing it all out, and various modes.
thx...looking forward to see more^^
It really is amazing what you have put together so far. Can't wait to see more.
Haha, I meant who did the cinematography! Very well put together. I take it that's you though. :P
I mean, everything was great, but there are plenty of games/mods with amazing graphics, great audio, but cinematics that just don't really show it that well.
EDIT: Odd, was supposed to reply to SirBaron's reply to my comment. Hrm.
We (well...SirBaron!) work hard on the cinematography. It's one of the most important aspects of telling a story well. You'll also have noticed in all our trailers so far, that we have tried to avoid the fast cuts / fast moving camera shots, and going back to a more 70's style of camerawork / editing. Basically, the camera is the 'frame' to tell the story, rather than the camera actually telling the story which is pretty common nowadays (looking at you shakycam...)
Thanks for your feedback. This trailer was a big step up for us, but, as I've said elsewhere, each time we do one of these, we 1) have more and more assets to play with, and 2) get faster and better at the overall process!
Our next task will be to demonstrate something from the player's point of view, which I don't think will be too far away.
I remember I-War. Don't worry about influences, the range of influences being considered by various team members are HUGE.
Gareth - you forgot 'and blow more stuff up'.
Nice work. Excellent voice over. All round polishing up well. Thanks for the update.
the planet needs to be fixed. you don't really need a normal or bump map on it. you can't see something like that from orbit.
Wow how did I miss this? Brilliant work SirBaron and the X32I team, that trailer was fantastic!
Eagerly anticipating the release :)
Oh and the voice work was very good too.
