London 2027 was a huge project... and I mean HUGE. Everything was being designed from scratch because the game was set in the future and therefore things would be different (new cars, weapons, etc) and the team simply couldn't handle it.
The game was cancelled, but not all is lost. JSS will be launching "London 1992" very shortly. The game is designed as a prequel, but without a major storyline. The game will feature characters from the same "universe" and there will be links with 2027.
We are hoping to create a 6-player (possibly more) co-op game in which players will assume the roles of British Army soldiers and Metropolitan Police officers. You will battle your way through London, fighting against IRA terrorists who threaten to bring down the city.

COOL! SOUNDS FUN!
Oh, sweet!
Won't you still need to make everything from scratch?...
We need to make models from scratch, but the concepts and planning process will be far less work.
For instance, in 2027, weapons had to be designed from the very beginning... whereas we already know what weapons were used in 1992.
To make an SA80, we simply need to find details on the internet. To make a brand-new gun we would have to make a concept, draw up plans, design it, etc.
Making something brand-new takes hours, days and weeks. Making something that already exists in the "real world" is a lot easier.
Ahhh, gotcha. :)
Well I hope you learned that you should do more thinking before starting a project so when you have an idea for your next project...oh never mind you already went ahead.
But with your multiplayer goals you can't be expecting easy progress even though you scrap the future aspect. Plenty of work is going to go into coding and I hope you already have someone that is willing to take care of that.
You probably already know that taking away the future aspect also takes away some of the uniqueness and creative talent many people were looking forward to with the 2027 mod. Nevertheless I wish everything well for the team along with your new project and new year :)
Thanks for the positive flow of energy as always.
