So since the group isn't as active as it used to be i wanted to get it back to life with a little discussion...

As you may, may not, or don't want to know star wars rebels recently ended it's first season end the show seems to get some great reception.
Before the show was released, i heard a lot of people already complaining. Oh this is gonna be a bad show, kid friendly, stuff like that. About the kid friendly thing i can judge, because even though the main character, ezra bridger, doesn't really kill people, only stun them ( at least as far as i know ) i have obviously seen people die. A bomb exploded in a stormtroopers face. If that doesn't kill him the ewoks spears must be made of unicorn horns. But that's not what this is about.

The reason i wrote this is because i want to know what you think of the show. This is my opinion for example:

I like it. I really didn't expect a good star wars show coming from the disney direction but i was really impressed. I like the characters, though sometimes they are a little bit corney, but then again it still is a disney show. The humor in it is also kinda fun. Even though it didn't have me laughing out loud (except from that one time where they want to keep the imperial astromech droid but chopper knocks it out) but it did get me to giggle from time to time.

The story is not really complicated (up to now), but for me that's alright because it can be developed by time and doesn't throw a lot of things at your face in a short period of time, which is a thing other shows did and that can turn me off from watching it.

But the action is by far my most favorite part in the show. Oh boy i like it. It really makes me feel like being ten years old again. There are lasers flying around, things blowing up, lightsabers clashing, you get it. Some battles are also really creative and they are really fun to watch. After watching it i found myself going like: pew pew pew BOOM in my head and sometimes out loud for the rest of the night.

So, what do you guys think of the show? Please leave a comment and discuss it with each other.

The empire never dies!

*peace* *order* *justice*

I'll admit. The show is good.
Better than we expected.

It still feels a little a bit too pg for me though.
Remember as Star Wars: The Clone Wars progressed the show got more and more serious, as well as more intriguing? I'd like it if they did that here.

They somehow managed to keep that show kid friendly and yet keep the attention of older audiences. Finding that middle ground is key if they want to keep the shows appeal.

The show is also lore set to be 8 years after episode 3.
So I'm wondering, what happened to all our clone troopers?
Are they all now "irredeemable bad guys" by Disney's standards?

Running across old Clones and Jedi will certainly be a highpoint for me in the show. And then finding a way to implement them in this new era, an era of "Order and Peace".

I gotta agree with you. The lore I think is set 14/15 years after Episode III so clones troopers would be like in their 50s (With growth acceleration). With that said wouldn't new clones be still in the making with all the cloning facilitates on Kamino and many generations of them?

Plus the new canon for clones getting wiped is terrible 'As time passed, the clones began degenerating in ability and were replaced by non-clones who either volunteered or were conscripted by the Empire.' I preferred the old reason which was the Clone Rebellion on Kamino in Star Wars Battlefront as the reason why there is no new clone. I remember reading Tarkin the book (Canon) and Darth Vader had a clone trooper that lead his men named Crest Starwars.wikia.com and he Darth Vader said he was maybe aging to quickly for his job and that was 5 years into the Empire reign so he would of been like 30 or less (which makes no sense).

Anyway back to Rebels, On a positive note I like the characters they are very well written, Continuation is good, Good humor and good story writing. Negative notes: Some things look terrible in my opinion (Stormtrooper Helmets, Imperial Star Destroyers and Tie Fighters) I know its set to be like Ralph Mcquarries designs but come on Wookies Thewookieegunner.files.wordpress.com looks terrible compared to the Clone Wars, they should of introduced them in when they had a better budget and instead replaced the Wookies with some other species. The Empire is the worst thing ever on Lothal and they always lose in the end! AT-DPs are terrible walkers and everyone misses! Why are they called the elite soldiers of the Empire if they can't hit a single object?

My problems with both series;

-Dave Filloni

- the art style was already annoying for me during TCW, now its really tiring and often lazy as ****
I0.wp.com

- Clone wars and rebels are intermediate stories.. we know how they begin and end thanks to the movies, political scheming should be kept to a story backdrop in favor of more character development or actual action. Kids find political stuff boring and adults find it predictable.

- It really didnt feel like a lot was happening.. why is cis so weak in most cannon adaptations

- the voice acting especially clones and droids

- jesus those wookiees

- That man with the cowboy hat touched me

Yeah, I noted that about the art style.
I heard it had to do with budget issues of all things.

I agree about the way the make the Empire always lose and their troops always miss. It's infuriating to be honest, you'd think they could give the Empire more credit especially after seeing the troops training programs they go through at a young age as seen from that one episode.

At least in the Clone Wars show the CIS had their victories from time to time.

Yes i did notice that with the new droid commanders and commandos etc. But it still felt somewhat underwhelming compared to the epic commics no?

About the empire, at least it fit in the movies imo, but weve grown past that now.. guess the rebels team hasnt yet.

dont even watch the clone wars and rebels shows anymore they seem to be too "childish" that might be the wrong phrasing but id like to have a grim star wars movie. Episode 3 did it kinda well.

Episode 3 was grim for no reason, it went from r2d2 slapstick, to **** romance to stupid jedi not seeing wats under their nose to killing younglings. I have no problem with a bit of a darker edge but Episode 3 did it cheaply and inconsistently. Only serving to make the mediocre movie less attracting.

I enjoyed it but I also felt there were some missed opportunities which would have made it that much more awesome. Also it would be nice if they could make the show fit with TFU. Even though it's technically not cannon (and I believe never has been) it still had a rather interesting plot which could make the depth and complexity in Rebels much larger.

I would like starkiller to be in rebels, though i think it wouldn't really add up to anything he did in the games... and what he did do might be a bit of a too grom story...
But i do like the idea.
