Unfortunately there is no way to correct the damage the patch does if it has already occurred.
2.0 will include this block from the start so it shouldn't be an issue at that point.
Well ****, I bought this game on Steam and looked into mods right now xD Least the next version will work.
The latest performance patch now fixes the issue with steam installs.
