The features highlighted in the above video are as follows (among some extra ones thrown in for good measure):
- New item system (xml files, physics, scripting and grabbing)
- Punches and kicks chosen based on range
- Ragdolls go to sleep better (can be controlled with script)
- Using Bullet for faster ray collision checks
- Fixed bug if you do a jump attack after doing a throw
- Fixed ragdoll flip recovery
- Single-sided swept collisions
- Imposter index files saved to user files
- Re-enabled object specular
- New level

Hah! Who would've thought that tweaking the ragdoll physics could make them look more realistic AND save processing power? This is going to be so awesome. I'll play it constantly if only to see my dead body flailing off mountaintops :D

I haven't read any Overgrowth posts for a while and after reading/watching this I'm almost as amazed as I was the first time I saw an Overgrowth video. This game and its techniques are very impressive.
I have never seriously taken(?) a look at the alpha version I downloaded some time ago but I certainly will check out this updated alpha.

Very nice... Overgrowth is going to be fun just running around hopping on and off mountains. Reminds me of MX vs ATV... I would just ride around trying to clear gaps between mountains.
Interesting idea... what if the characters in Overgrowth could do tricks besides the standard flips? spins maybe?
