Last Day 1.1 requires a new game.


  • Added a new version of the PDA network feature
  • Added iron sights from Misery 2.2
  • Added medicine stats from Misery 2.2
  • Added Megafon_fix addon

  • Added new icons for dead/damaged batteries from Misery 2.2
  • Added player statistics based on the Scout from Misery 2.2
  • Changed binoculars to fit in weapon slot like in Misery 2.2
  • Changed descriptions to match Misery 2.2
  • Compressed game files into .db format to improve game performance
  • Corrected errors in texts
  • Doctors no longer work for free
  • Fixed an exploit allowing you to get weapons from stalkers in full condition
  • Fixed missing icons of stalkers
  • Fixed starter kits
  • Fixed the simulation and changed the number of people in the Truck Cemetery
  • Increased number of dialogues for the purchase of intel on routes with new variations
  • Loner faction renamed to Free stalkers
  • Merchants can now loan money
  • Optimized script used during the removal of armor
  • Readded the fierce Chimera
  • Reduced number of drop-in cartridges in boxes and boxes
  • Reduced number of looted money
  • Removed a non-functional quest to find an artifact for Fanatic
  • Removed from locations freebie breaking balance

  • The game engine now supports up to 8 GB of RAM

  • Updated DoctorX Questlines to version 1.25

In Options > Game. The latest translation patch should set the game to English automatically.

I dont think that game can use more than 8GB. Engine would need massive remake similar to making it 64bit like Im-dex is doing with xray-162(that still is work in progress). And if Last Day would have such engine change it would be one of biggest event in stalker world for years, and I dont see any news about it...

Even if you set large address aware it can take MAXIMUM of 4GB on 64bit system per application(because overall win32 can cap it to 64GB), that is actually 3.5GB due to memory requirements of the operating system itself.

I would love to get some proper source on that information, because its confusing as hell, especially when such possibility would be amazing and they just put small info in change log about it? It dont have any sense...

All what they wrote in VK.com is that "now it support 8GB" like it was nothing, like every stalker mod could do that... Sorry but for be its lie right now.

Still nope, Im sorry but if someone dont give me a proof of changes in engine and real data, this is nothing more than some memory management tweaks that probably move some of data to cache on HDD.

Its like saying that 1.2L car engine can produce 600HP. It cant. All what you can do is put HUGE turbo on it to give it boost.

Stalker is 32bit application, that is limited by it self AND BY system, you cant just MAKE it take more memory.

This is probably just some memory tweaks that use cache and virtual memory.

The same with multithreaded.... seriously? I can force Stalker to use other cores instead of torturing firs one, just by changing affinity of CPU, because normally first core is used for almost 60-70% of work, and if you disable CPU0 it will be forced to spread power to rest of cores. But its still fake multithreading because engine of game need to be optimized for that, and its not work for one night of coding.

I had to say, the multithread switch IS kinda working. I have a desktop Intel i3 7100 and mobile i5 4200h. Both of them shows small but noticeable 2-5 fps increment, depends on situation. I don't know about other CPUs, so it's only my own experience.

Included BAT file does exactly the same thing - disabling the 1st thread from the application affinity, and does it automatically at the start of the game, so it actually can be useful.

As for 8gb... Well, I haven't yet tested the new patch personally, so I can only guess, but I know only one or two ways to exceed 3GB limit except obvious x86_64 recompilation. One of them is AWE API which is used in SQL server, but that should REMOVE the limit, not just increase it. The other one is the way like ENB works, I guess. Separate interceptor which shares the data with the main xray-process... But that is some REALLY dark magic. Both of these methods requires deep XRay knowledge and some heavy edits.

I was thinking about solution like ENB, but this would be working like emulation, and that mean HUGE cpu usage, that would probably would be worst than having just 3GB of memory.

There are few dirty tricks to increase memory management size, but those solution are "dirty" and they do one thing and mess other or are just placebo that show increase but in reality its just nothing that actually work as it should.

Only way is to have Data Centre Edition of Windows Server that could use even 64GB per app(that would be amazing...)
Or to have proper 64bit engine that use memory and threads as it should.

As for trick with cpu affinity its work wit lots of apps and games,
its actually easy to make.
Just go to bin folder of stalker, create new txt file, insert this:
For 4core cpus:
cmd.exe /C start /high /affinity 0x0e xrEngine.exe
for 8cores cpus:
cmd.exe /C start /high /affinity 0x0fe xrEngine.exe
and save as .bat file

This also set High priority for stalker that make it perform even better(but sometimes you still need to set it to high in Task Manager...)

But honestly, as you said it maybe give you 2-3fps, but best way to speed up Stalker is... defragmentation of Disc or use SSD drive. Even small one. I have crappy old SSD that have just 64GB and I have it only for games like Stalker, stability of game and speed of loading and lack of lags is HUGE compared to HDD.

Now I would like to check it by my self(maybe next week...), because even by that video its look like tweaked VM management, because why its capped all the time at 4+GB(and why windows TM dont show xrEngine.exe)?

Yes, I am skeptical all the time, sorry for that.
Its because its not the first time someone show tweaks that "Increase memory usage" and all what was doing is using bumped VM that is counted as RAM(it use HDD cache that act like RAM).

Im not saying that its lie, I just know that this is not easy task, and Stalker is not only game that try improve RAM usage for years without any proper results, and its just weird that just like that one new mod get it, and no one knew about it.

That was total RAM usage in the system, btw. Not sure how to get it to show for the program only.

Also, obviously the task manager doesn't show xrEngine.exe after it's crashed.

Heres a crash report for a CTD I get when I try to talk to the lead scientist in Yantar. 1.1 is awesome buts its giving me a lot of trouble. Constantly having to restart to get the translation options to work, Not being able to mod the level textures with absolute nature and these crashes in yantar again.

I installed it by creating a new folder, dragging all the content inside of it and then installing the translation mod. I just dragged and dropped the content like you would other mods.

Is this because I installed it incorrectly or something? Did I miss a step?

Maybe. I guess I COULD completely re-install it and manually check every folder for missing files.

This doesn't just happen in Yantar. Traders in Freedom, Ecologists and Military gave me a CTD because of missing content or something.

I may have found the problem. I decided to just drag the mod files from the .rar package into the folder where I had the mod and let the archive program merge any missing content with existing information but it seems there's about 45 files missing from my download or something. What should I do about this?

This hasn't helped me at all. I tried using 7zip this time and it didn't change anything. I dont really know what to do at this point. I pretty much can't play the game with a majority of the factions and can't beat story mode.

I even re-downloaded the whole thing and re-installed it from the ground up and had the same issue.

I looked in the locations where my archive programs said there was missing information and the folders are just empty. Perhaps you could help me out by giving me a package of all these missing files or something? Ill check inside of the .rar file again and go to the same locations and see if there is even a file in them to begin with. Maybe I just have to drag stuff over myself again and the archive program is just being a bitch.

Yea this is definitely the issue. I looked under gamedata/meshes/dynamics/devices in both my games folder and the .rar package and the .ogf files for dev_datchik 1 and 3 are missing.

If I can just get these files im pretty sure it will fix the problem.

I have plenty of hard drive space. 183 GB.

Something must be wrong with my archive program ,yea but... is there anywhere else I can download 1.1 from? My download is literally missing files and two separate archive programs cant find the information where it should be, if its even there. Is there another program like winrar or 7zip I could use? Maybe theres someone else who may know more who could help me?

This project is ******* amazing and with some damage and behavior tweaks on some npc's I think it could be the pinnacle of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R experience. Its deeply frustrating to not be able to enjoy the game because of this.

I looked in the folders I needed and there still isn't anything in them. dev_datchik_1 and 3 are the only folders that are missing files. It does look like there are a bunch of folders that I didn't have before which is a good start.

Anybody know how to get special orders from Nimble? I've done nearly a dozen quests for him but I still can't order from him at all, the dialogue choice just isn't there. Not even a button for trading. Can anybody help?
