Oh god. I really wish they had put something else in. Here this game is, sitting in the heartland of awesome medieval weaponry and they decided to add an Asian weapon. A Claymore or Broadsword would have been so much cooler. :/

I love Katanas.
But to say all other swords "Suck" is stupid. I can name a million non-Asian swords that are just as epic.
Also, funny story, if you've seen Japanese culture, they have great interest in Western Blades, as we have great interest in Eastern Blades, it's just a culture thing.
To them, a Katana is drab, to them, a Bastard Sword is "Cool!" :P
Broadswords are twice as cool as Katanas, as they are double edged swords!
It's weird, I just don't seem to have a raging hard on for the Japanese like so many other people. But I'm glad so many people are happy, means more people playing!
I don't particularly care for swords in general. They're just fun to use to hack off limbs.

First my man broadsword is heavy when you swing it once you will be surounded by many zombies and eventualy get killed.The katana can cut bullet,its verry fast and its light as feather.Maybe the broadsword is cool but the right tool for killing zombies would be the katana :).No hard feelings dude just saying.

A katana is a commonly collected weapon, why wouldn't a soldier think to make use of it during the zompocolypse? ;D
There is also an M76 grenade launcher texture in the KF folder, so maybe that will come in future updates as well.
One thing stenchy didn't mention was tripwire is releasing KFs first paid character pack as well including 4 playable characters. Most likely this is gonna cost 5 bucks or less.
There was also the "new functionality" mentioned, and I'm wondering if that's pertaining to a new gameplay mechanic or tweak not mentioned in the update. Either way FRICKEN AWESOME.

I would rather see new maps than other stuff..espacily if they spend their time on DLC instead of adding new maps (not one, but al least five).
there is a mod that there are zombies in a mall and you got more than 78+ weapons you can cut zombies in half and cut there heads off with a katana which is fun but the sad part is that its coming out on 2010!

^ ^ ^ ^ This is why one should not mention other games or mods in a post about a game with a few similar concepts. KF is NOTHING like ZPS, and never will be anything like it. It's a different game on a different engine with completely different features.
Comparing KF to L4D, ZPS, or any zompocolypse spin offs is like comparing a staircase and a banana, but somehow it manages to make people make decisions based on these comparisons.

Can't really be compared considering ZPS is free and has ALOT more maps and content. You cant compare real games by companies to mods anyway. Its so stupid to compare a team of professionals who are paid against people doing it for fun.
But it is a really nice looking Katana! Glad this game got some nice DLC!

Lol. I know they're not essential, but it just makes me chuckle abit about how many times the TWI forums sang praise of how TWI wouldn't sell reskins of an old game. ;P

I don't remember anyone saying any of those. Also KF isn't a reskinned mod at all.
The core and gameplay effecting updates are completely free. Anything the devs did extra otherwise that pertains in no way to the actual gameplay is going to cost probably less then 5 dollars. It's quite fair and simple and noones forcing you to buy them, but if you want to look a tad different and got some pocket change, bam new skins, why not? The more they sell the more work they may put into future DLC :D
Yeah, who cares if they charge for characters? At least they throw you a map and some weapons free. The character skins are just there if you want a change of look. It could be much worse and they could add the map and weapons to that pack.

If the AK-47 is for the Commando, I might play that class more :D But since I love Berserker... I'm afraid I won't step away from the Katana long enough to even use it.
ha ha ha yea, my idea if i can pull it off is ak-47+katanna with either commando or berserker depending on the map. If i can't carry the ak with the katana then ill just have to take the support spec. perk lol
tbh i don't like ZPS at all. It looked really good but after playing it it just feels drab and meh. Zombie gameplay is not fun and you end up with **** all weapons unless you play it religously and can find the best weapons quickly b4 everyone else. ZM is my personal favourite Zombie Source mod. But killing floor WOW i loooovvvveeee killing floor. It's just insanly fun! and i think knocks the stuffing out of ZPS even if it is free and has more stuff Killing Floor is just more fun and fun to play with 4 maps. Weapons are better on Killing Floor aswell tbh

yeh i think it will because commando is the only class not to have a secondary weapon like the Specialist Hunting Shotgun or Sharpshooter Crossbow

For 20$, it's not a bad deal. Though that 20$ could go towards better things, honestly. Fun game, but I mean heck, with 20$, you could do alot better, too. :P

The player base has been shrinking by the day and is down to 1/10th of what it was a mere two months ago. Imagine 6 months, 12 months, 16 months? ect.

The playerbase is doing what EVERY games player base does. It starts huge and then builds a dedicated fanbase.
I use SteamStats is all.

Dude, it's STEAM STATS! 1200 players max, 600 minimum, the game used to have 7000 minimum, 10,000 max, that was for the first two weeks. It kinda shows! Geeze Stenchy, yer not being very reasonable.
