reports that the movie version of the Japanese anime-video game based
Dragonball franchise is about ready to enter production. Actor Justin
Chatwin (War of the Worlds, The Invisible) has been cast as the lead
character Goku and is currently in fight training. James Masters (Spike
in the Buffy and Angel TV
series) will portray the film's villian Piccolo. James Wong (Final
Destination) will write and direct the movie which will be produced by
Kung Fu Hustle's Steven Chow. Filming begins later this month and
Twentieth Century Fox is scheduled to release the movie on Aug. 15.
