July 24th, 2009 Things are continuing to progress towards our 2009 beta-release. We're not prepared to set a firm date yet, but I can say that (barring unforseen problems) this will probably be the last website update before that announcement. Over the past two months we have had some impressive steps forward. A new member, Goldchocobo, has provided us with some professional quality vocals for the mod. Currently we have four character sets complete and will likely finish a few more before release. Dram has recorded new footstep sounds for us; a big improvement over our previous ones. Springheel has been working on adding new head entities to the mod...there will be over 50 to choose from when we release (you can see them on our wiki page. And our animators, NoisyCricket, Squill, and Domarius, have been working hard to expand the range of AI movement.
Ishtvan has completed our combat system, which works in a similar fashion to Mount and Blade. You select from four different attacks and four different parries (or allow an "auto parry" system to do it for you). You can see combat (as well as the new vocals and footstep sounds) in action in the videos below.
Uhm...I guess...awesome?
that's the awesome thief-series in beautiful - great combat demo, looking forward to play it ;)
Well Dude .... this sure looks sweet. Looking forward to playing it. Keep it UP... Thanks..
Looks excellent :-)
Reminds me of Oblivion, its amazing what the tech 4 engine can do!
The nail that sticks up gets hammered down. Great job, Hammerite-ish in deadly dangerousness & vocals. Good times.
I can't wait to play this. Definitely one of the best looking mods out there. I'm impressed by how much the Doom III engine has managed to hold up.
Great work, all looking polished, might be buying the game just for this mod.
Not to be negative with small niggles but the Hammerites don't say 'God', it is always 'Builder strike him down!' or the like.
Since TDM is our own universe, it isn't thief. The "hammerites" in the video are actually known as The Builders.
the dragging looks like it could use some refinement tho xP
I actually think that what little of what we saw in regards to dragging bodies looked okay to me. Especially since that body is dressed in armor, not an easy thing to move on one's own, while also encumbered with one's own equipment. In fact, I hope that dragging a body is a (somewhat) noisy affair, depending on the type of material one is dragging the body across. That would certainly ratchet up the tension level.
I just hope that the next demo runs far smoother than the first. My framerates were abysmal, and I couldn't even finish playing it.
Whether it'll play on my system in the end or not, I wish the team all the best on this!
I'm sad it didn't run well for you. Have you looked at our performance tweaks page?

Also, here is our wiki page on our Saint Lucia demo

Hope these help you if you try it again.
