InfinityAdmin has spent a few days on the HDRI, shadows and LOD ( level-of-detail ) for Infinity and today he released 2 new videos showing off those new and improved effects! Keep in mind this is a work in progress. Yes, it's not perfect. There are tons of little problems, parameters to adjust.

InfinityAdmin has spent a few days on the HDRI, shadows and LOD ( level-of-detail ) for Infinity and today he released 2 new videos showing off those new and improved effects!

Keep in mind this is a work in progress. Yes, it's not perfect. There are tons of little problems, parameters to adjust. Things will improve over time. And keep in mind it's yet another "tech" demo: even if it looks nice, it's far, extremely far from being more than a rendering prototype.

Two new videos for the price of one!
City video
Showing off the city and a few models. Stannum's buildings, Shawn's city dome, CutterJohn's Intrepid, and 100 Shadix/Petrov interceptor's loaded. Also shows HDRI and dynamic shadows.

Spuk's outpost
Showing off the small station made by Spuk. Generic textures, no skybox/background, it's a bit plain, but it shows HDRI + dynamic shadows.

Can't you people READ AT ALL, it's work in progress, and HDRL = Lighting to the above above above commenter.

Looks good so far just make sure to code it right and optimize it for optimal performance aswell as visual... i don't want 4 gigs of ram to run this at 40fps withouth 0 AA

nice as always but I think the ground level of the city looks way too empty. I mean, why would anyone build such a huge dome when not using the whole space within its hull.

Lovely. Although I must say, are you going to smooth out those moving shadows (City vid)? They look very jerky to me.

looking realy nice so far.. but while the txture on you little "flight-car" the txtures of the city are very boring.. use more than blue and grey -but as you said: its wip and I hope this will come :P

impresive. at first looks like use zimbillions of polygons, then I think is well made textures to fake soo complex geometry. nice trick!.
