Well, halloo! You've read it correctly. Heath Games has been hard at work, and will continue that course - if only to bring you Half-Rats: Parasomnia by the middle of November! That's 2016, you dweebs! I love you guys...This time, the story/progression was well-planned out before being executed. I've just finished a blow-by-blow storyboard/screenplay of the game in its ENTIRETY. And, ohhh...sweet babe Jesus, are you people in for it! Parasomnia will feature tons of action, much better puzzles, but, at the same time be very cinematic and narrative-driven. There will be lots of dialogue/monologue/narration...that you won't be able to skip through. Bad news for you speedrunners...But there will also be Gatling guns you can rip off their mounts and go full Rambo with...and there will be a cat...WHOOPS, I've said too much! Heath Games resident voice actor, Devan Miller is all set to fill the shoes of many of the characters you'll encounter!
Aside from that, we've got some new features that are sure to turn some heads! Check it out, my friends!
Some of these you'll recognize, though they have gotten a face-lift...or generous plastic surgery, rather...Others are brand new. At this time, we are implementing a monetary system which will allow the player to purchase items...now where will these items go? Well, we're also working on an inventory system that can be used in real time! I have a HUD mock-up right here for you! Modeling and texturing by Alejandro "Foxtrop" Alonso and Half-Rats.
Half-Rats will be carrying a rather large pack upon his back...in modern words - a backpack. This is how the HUD will be set up. Items will be able to be carried with you after being picked up. They can be used at a later date. You're going to want the cocaine lozenges to give you a speed boost, since we are reducing the player's movement speed! Not as scary when you can outrun all the enemies is it? And in case you plan on ducking into a tight space to avoid an attack, we've tested out Osiris' monster ducking code...and yeah, it works very well...But don't worry, chums, there will be a few more weapons this go-round. Including a Henry Repeater. There will also be the ability to block and kick enemies back while the melee weapon is equipped! Fancy, huh? Sword fighting with demonic undead...how very adventurous! Of course, we've been working on mapping concurrently. Here's some beautiful scenery...
The small mining town of Asylum. You're safe here...
The high Church of Eminence! By Thanos.
The interior of such a church! By Thanos.
Our goal here at Heath games is to scare the ever loving shit out of you and make you quake in yourn boots. I have some surprises here for you...Take a lookie!
Here's your new playmate! You freaky masochistic horror fans are gonna' love sharing play time with this thing! Modeling by Alejandro "Foxtrop" Alonso, texturing by Half-Rats.
And then there's this...aberration. What is it? That's for me to know and you to find out. I'm calling him "B-Boy" for now...
Yeahhh...He's really a nice man once you get to kill him...
Okay, all that good news above was to soften the sting of what's to come next. I've decided to nix the co-op and multiplayer aspect of HR:P to conserve time. I DO plan on releasing a co-op/multiplayer version in the future, however...But right now, we're putting full focus on a stunning single-player experience for everyone.
Thank you for your support, ModDb!
-Half-Rats, Heath Games
That's Awesome! I'm definetly playing it! ^_^
Looking Great.
Very much looking forward to this, good work lads.
This mod is going to be terrifying and fun.
Well that was fast. I'm confident it's gonna be released on time.
Sounds like November will be a good month. This is looking like one of the most feature-heavy HL mods made in a long time.
Literally nothing will remain of Half-Life in this one. I've even redone the footsteps sounds, and ricochet sounds...
Sounds good for me. Waiting for it in november, dear half-rats :p
oh yes
