Well folks, after all the gone gold rumors, it's finally all clear. All the pinata talk and such, we have a word from Vivendi and let me tell you, its quite some good news.
Vivendi Universal Games (VU Games) today announced that Half-Life2, the sequel to one of the most critically acclaimed PC titles in gaming history, will ship to retail outlets around the world in November. The Company confirmed that Half-Life 2, developed by Valve Software, has gone gold with a planned retail street date of November 16, 2004. The countdown to the highly anticipated retail street date has begun around the world, as VU Games completes plans to ship localized versions of Half-Life 2 simultaneously in English, French, Spanish, Italian, German, Traditional and Simplified Chinese, Korean, Thai and Japanese.
Half-Life 2 has surpassed our expectations in every sense its high-quality graphics, ground-breaking physics and immersive first-person shooter gameplay set a new standard for PC action games, said Bruce Hack, CEO of VU Games. I think they changed it to "SDK at same time as game".
They better have not. The SDK is already finished and HL Rally has it and another mod.

stupid IT WENT GOLD but they never annonced it till today along with a date. I just want the sdk and would of loved to see a DEMO of HL2 before the game. Looks like we will see a demo after the game is out to get sales

and yes they said the sdk would be released be4 the game comes out, but they still have about 28 days...
The public sales of HL2 is on November 18. The steam version will come out 2 weeks earlier. ;)

Pfft, Gold package is so useless. Bunch of useless junk, with a Sound Track which is gonna get ripped and put on SuprNova anyways. Silver is perfect. Comes with all of the source engine games, as well as Counter-Stirke: CZ and Counter-Strike: CZ Deleted Scenes.
Oh yeah, and HL2 does get released over Steam early for Steam Package purchasers with the game Pre-loaded. I heard it on a gaming website somewhere, I'll look for the link if I can find it x_x

Ok, if you sign into steam, you'll see the news post by VALVe, and you'll see that people who purchased the steam packages.....DONOT get it ahead of other people. However, people who own the Steam packages and pre-loadeded HL2 will get to play immidiately on release, so you won't have to drag your *** to the store like some other people :P
