Post news Report RSS Gutterdelve gets creepier and more uncomfortable!

Gutterdelve is my first indie rpg done with Rpgmaker VX ace! It's undergone countless revisions though I'm quite sure "cheese" and "typos" are still in abundance! Regardless, it was fun to tell a story I felt that would only work within "the indie games medium". I'm sure it has been offensive to certain gamers but succeed or fail, I did want to have deep characters haunted by some very heady issues. Is the game politically correct? Nope, and it did not strive to be that way in the first place!!

Today marks Gutterdelve getting what is hopefully its' last big update. Tomes of information concerning the various homunculi have been strewn around the town and the game opens with a new narrator with her own harrowing story to tell. Additionally, interacting with the opened book near the theater entrance a second time after saving Amy will divulge new dialogue and make the bar area accessible!

Other easter-eggs to watch out for.

-Have Liam interact with the television in the O'sheely family loft before "the last big battle" to find out more about his back story.

-After talking to Angi & Lucian in the chapel hit up the door to Xander's room to eavesdrop on some naughty hi-jinks! (Also be sure to talk to Lucian & Angi multiple times for additional info)

-The kitchen in the manor is the place where people gather for savory chit chat. Take that into consideration before quickly progressing things to the next mission.

Finished this finally i cant say overall i enjoyed the game as id have to have issues to enjoy suffering of others.
tho in that regard. it was less offensive then i was expecting.
part of which was not going into too much details with those events.

and after you escape from the nightmare cage the 1st time. i really wanted the game to end there. it was dragged out at that point for me. even worse with the mazes.
honestly the rape backstorys and such felt completely pointless.
i mean i saw no reason for it to have been in the story until the very last scene which it made sense what you were aiming for at that point.

not a fan of mazes at all. but the look of the mapping was good for rtp :3
something else i really liked was having a succubus that was not evil (by normal standards anyway)
also that may be the 1st time i seen a succubus model on this engine now that i think about it :3
i love ma cute demons :D

Overall it was a...ok game (i cant bring myself to say higher due to the subect)
anyway good job for finishing your project!
