GREETINGS TROOPERS!

This will be our last update before we announce our amended release date, and with this article we'd like to introduce you to the maps that will be receiving co-op/singleplayer bot support for the first time with the release of First Strike 1.6.

Battle of Taloraan

A long time favourite of First Strike space jockeys, this map finally receives the bot treatment it deserves, we've released news that this was coming earlier last year, but since those initial tests we've continued to hone and balance and improve the general gameplay of this co-op/singleplayer experience with automated capital ships that move in to engage each other and starfighter combat which will be hard to match. The flow of the battle also evokes that of the classic trilogy's Endor space battle with the starfighters entering into an initial skirmish first, then followed by a clash of the big guns as the capital ships come into range. This will be a space combat experience which will not disappoint.

Jundland Wastes

Next up we have one of faves from the last major release with Jundland Wastes. With this initial co-op version of the map we have developed a nice little infantry map taking place in the southern region of the map which offers an interesting contrast between wide open desert combat with little to no cover, and more medium to close quarters combat around the built up areas. Additionally as has been mentioned in an earlier news post, the bots now integrate much better with the buildings on this level meaning hiding from the bots in a building may no longer be an option.

Nesmazzda Conflict

Finally we have a map new with 1.6, but already including full bot support. The design of this map focusing the combat together with the aforementioned improved bot integration with buildings makes co-op/singleplayer battles on this map a thing to be reckoned with, attacks from the enemy just seem to be able to come from any direction, and the combination of wide open spaces and tight alleyways means the action is always dynamic and comes thick and fast. I guarantee you're going to love the co-op/singleplayer action that you'll experience on this map.

That's all for this news update, but keep your eyes peeled for the new release date, we're just polishing off this thing as we speak, so good news is on its way.

SEE YOU ON THE BATTLEFIELD TROOPER!

Indeed, all I can really tell you at this point is soon. We want everything fully nailed down prior to announcing the amended release date this time so we don't get any surprises that may cause further delays.

However, it is now so close you can practically taste it.
