I want a Strategy/RPG game where it is sharks Vs. survivors that is kinda like Command and Conquer or Age of Empires style play, and you pick what unit to be like a great white shark or a mako, or when humans whether to be a captain of the sunk boat or a civilian who was on the boat. You could also make it so you could have different scenarios where you are whether you are from a plane or a boat etc.
That is my idea since i never find any games where you play as a shark ^^
My idea, which is outlined in a lot more detail here: http://turningmoments.wordpress.com/2010/02/15/forestry-sim-hypothetical-rts-designs/, is a strategy game that borrows ideas from the successful 'Eufloria' and also 'Darwinia+'. As a game the engine should be fairly simple to create and the visuals not too demanding to generate.
I’d really like to see a good strategy, maybe something along the lines of Supreme Commander crossed with Spore. Like for you’re light tank you would select from a series of tracks, turret, and a texture; maybe with the ability to place primitives to give it shape?
This is really cool. I'd shoot for an RPG or platformer, strategy games are good and all but also take a lot more work and it'd be a shame for you guys to get mired down with making one. Good luck!
RPG or Platformer here too.
Shooters there's plenty of, and doing endless balancing for a Strategy will be boring as hell. For a 'Community-Based' game RPG would be sweet, because then everyone can pretty easily come up with characters, weapons, missions, and environments for you to slot into the overall universe
Interesting project! I think the best choice is a FPS. In modern times (or WWII). So, the game should be in a style similar to Battlefield 2, which is teamplay, vehicles, large maps, etc. I know there are similar games (Battlefield 2 or Warrock), but Battlefield is commercial project without further support. Warrock is simply sucks. Your project is indie so it can succeed like Mount and Blade. Anticipating the next question, what features should include in this FPS:
- Battlefield 2 ideas like creating squads, commander, vehicles, large maps
- Semi-realistic, realism located between BF2 and Operation Flashpoint
- Low hardware requirements (like Warrock, gameplay is important, not graphics like Crysis, many people have a weak PC like me :P)
- Modding (like Counetr Strike or BF2)
- A cover system like Call of Juarez or Vietcong
- Nice menu like this (http://img2.vpx.pl/up/20090811/eaw_concept_menu.jpg) preview the game at settings menu
- game modes like normal and hardcore (hard gameplay; without HUD etc.)
- Capture the flag like Onslaught (UT2k4); objective mode like Enemy Territory
Impossible features :D :
- destruction of the environment
- Science fiction shooter with mission space to planet (like Space Stage in Spore)
Sorry for my English :p
Low hardware requirements should be because it is a waste of time to create few effects that may be not good and can slow down the game engine (like bump mapping). With low hardware requirements, you can reach to more potential players.
Besides, if the game was an RPG, it would not be a fantasy, because this theme is already completely used. A better example would be a RPG in Paleolithic with FPP ;p
I forgot to tell about a good solution in Mount and Blade. In the configuration, you can choose render mode directx7 (low graphics, low req) or directx9 (high graphics, high req).
Interesting...
What is it? xD
A game that you decide what's in it, and we make it!
Whatever you make, it must have zombie turtles!
ZOMG!
shooter, stargate game I've always wanted to play a game only about stargate i think you will find a lot of ppl do to so please make it stargate.
Just out of interest, how do you plan to stay motivated and determined when you may not be very fond of the game idea itself?
THE PRESSURE YOU GUYS WILL BE GIVING US TO FINISH!
Im fond all the ideas so far so its looking good =]

sounds good, but this will be hard as hell, more like impossible
Nothing is impossible :)

Shooter with RPG elements. So long gameplay etc. Just FPP RPG.

agreed, this will be good, and agreed with lowhardware requiments
