Final Version of MEC2 Released
While you download, if you're new to MEC2 (or just want a refresher) you may want to check out the following video. MEC2's gameplay is different from CNC3 so it is advised.
Final Thoughts and Thanks
MEC2 was intended to be made in 6 months as a quick promotional effort for Isotx. Somewhere along the line it became a game design and art testbed for us. During the same time EA released 5 'Command and Conquer' games, laid off most of their team (including everyone I knew there) and rehired most of a new one. Isotx itself released several games of their own (if you really want to support MEC2; buy Warlord and play Marauders).
I'd like to thank Isotx for their unwavering support even when we ran...several years over deadline. Thanks to all of the fans, EA (specifically Apoc when he was there), beta testers, past team members and current. Most of all a huge thanks to our coder Korona who's waged an unending war with the C&C3 engine (and won, most of the time). If not for him MEC2 wouldn't have been released, let alone completed.
Mod of the Year
The Mod of the Year contest is almost over, if you haven't yet please vote for MEC2!
What is next?
MEC2 for C&C3 is done, where will be no updates from our team. Obviously if there is a major bug or imbalance we will do a small patch, but otherwise we're done.
Is there a retail version in the future? EA doesn't license SAGE (we asked, twice). UDK type engines would be too costly to convert to RTS. The only chance is with Starcraft 2 Aracde, but Blizzard has yet to release enough solid info (or mod support) for Isotx to greenlight it.
We do believe that Starcraft 2 is the best place though and that is what we've been using for our next project. It has nothing to do with Isotx or Mideast Crisis and we won't announce it for a while but when we do you'll know it.

Have you guys ever thought about waiting for Generals 2 for your new project?
1) No one knows how good modding for Generals 2 will be, or if it'll even be possible.
2) Generals 2 is slated for a 2013 release.
3) No matter how much effort EA put into Generals 2 modding, there is no way it will be remotely as flexible as Starcraft 2. Let alone have something similar to the Arcade.
I don't know if the answer will change now, but considering EA probably won't be using SAGE/RNA for anything else now, you might as well ask if they will license it to you, again.

Another Great release from you guys, congratulations on a job well done. You've certainly exceeded everyone expectations in quality! And Merry Christmas!
If your still interested in releasing some form of RTS retail product then I would suggest that you check out the Alamo, MassTech, or Essence engine for licensing. Essence, if memory serves is owned by THQ... Either way license fees would likely be significantly cheaper than anything Blizzard-Activision would offer.
