Post news Report RSS [Fallout: New California] Action Trailer is Out!

New Trailer for the mod from Lucian Hector! Come watch the new video! Also updated the in-game cinematics one last time.

Aw yeah! That sweet BETA Footage!

LucianHector has been playing our mod and testing for us over the last few months, recording snippets of video as he goes. Even contributed a few frames to our ending videos!

He blended his combat in the mod into a sweet action trailer full of guns and explosions. :D He skipped spoiler areas too! Much appreciated.

Next up, at the end of April, I think, we'll have a Release Date Announcement trailer online. That one will have some original music work by Martin and Pablo as well, and drive home a real Fallout vibe.

We're almost there guys!

I want to get more work done, Rick and I, before posting a date, but we're within one update away from a final verdict. I'm not sure if the date Rick and I are looking at is going to really nail it, since we need to do more stress tests and a "nitpick level of refinement," then we'll know for certain. If it's green light I'll release the next trailer, we'll call out of work, prep website, pack files, test distribution, and get ready for Open Beta.

It's a not insubstantial amount of finishing work in a small span of time, but doable. I just need to focus and stay at it.

Now that we're almost in a play ready state it's time to do a last pass of our in-game videos and get those shored up.

Remade our Intro Video prior to release!

This is technically the 4th draft in the last 6 years, remade from scratch for release with a new "Brazil!" Cover Song from Pablo Cortina and Martin Purvis. :p

And the fantstic art for our animation drawn by Kaz Foxsen & I from the original Part 1 release is still in there: Facebook.com

Narration by Roger Owen. Edited by me. Other credits obviously go to the final credits list which I'll post ASAP before release so we can check and make sure everyone who contributed is in there.

Reworked the Part 1 -> Part 2 Transition Cutscene too.

That video above replaces the dream everyone hated -- including me. :p Now you can speed run from Bragg's Office or Rossman's Room straight to your bedroom, finalize character, see a cutscene and get a picture of what's going on, wake up, and you're in the Vault Civil War. Pick a side, fight through, grab/don't grab any combination of companions you want, and you're in the wasteland. Takes about 8 minutes, tops. Or 8 hours, if you're like me and want every last line of spoken dialogue down there.

Asurah's Animations starting off the mod's new more dynamic opening!

That opening is no longer static! Final in game version will have a "real" screen shake and the player's identity, race, sex will be hidden under thick armour and gloves. And sound, obviously. We're adding a control script for the DLC popups, and Solid Project is adding a control script for FNC so that initialization popup won't appear.

You can read more about our progress on the Design Documents Found Here. In the mean time, you can keep track of us on ModDB, Fallout Nexus, (which I took offline for now) or Facebook. We've got a thriving online community centered around each one.

You can also throw dollars at me on Pay-Pal so I don't starve to death at my desk: Nexusmods.com

Cheers

I started following this mod in 7th grade. Took a year off from school but now would be my freshman year in college. I never expected after 6 years we would see a total conversion of this magnitude. Your hard work has made the wait truly worth it.

If the action feels half as good as the video, and not as flat and static as the bethesda engine makes it, I'll be impressed.

Like that?

It's old, but it's not terribly far from final.

Congrats on a job well done. Really excited for the release date trailer. This might be my only reason to return and finally finish the New Vegas DLC. :D
