A video showing the latest game play footage from Executive Assault.

Recently added a whole plethora of new features including:

  • Missile Silos: No need to send troops, just blast them from afar with highly precise but expensive ballistic missiles.
  • Artillery: A less accurate but easier to use long range weapon, simply select the area you want destroyed and your artillery will continuously rain down shells on the area.
  • Invigilator Walkers: Weaker armour then tanks, but much more powerful then troops, able to wander into an area with their dual gun points and decimate anything in sight.
  • Intelligence Centre: Now you can have a mini map in the corner so you can see the whole battlefield in one go. It does have a limited range but this can be removed by researching a satellite to launch into orbit. The satellite has other uses too such as scanning for resources hidden across the battlefield and also 'encouraging' a nearby asteroid to crash down.
  • B.A.R.B.R.A now kindly tells you when enemy troops are trying to use the lift, how nice of her.
  • Reduced the GPU overhead on troops so now you can have more of them.

Here is a video demonstrating all these features and the current state of Executive Assault. Enjoy!

The voice over wasn't a bad thing, though sometimes when combat gets intense your voice ends up being drowned out. I recommend turning down game volume to make it easier to hear you.

I also like the idea of troops being able to miss, even if it's actually a bug. Perhaps you should design types of weapons which keep accuracy in mind, where some are more likely to miss but do more damage? Or perhaps introduce research which makes your units more accurate? I don't know, just thinking of stuff off the top of my head.

This is my first time seeing the game, and I'm loving the direction you're going with it. It's the kind of RTS/FPS blend I've been looking for for years but no game that attempts it has gotten close. Keep up the good work, Hesky!

Hi Elite879,
Cheers for the feedback, I have been wanting a good RTS/FPS combo for a while too so hopefully this will make the grade.

Got exactly what you have asked with accurate and inaccurate weapons. The lasers which are deal damage directly, and the pulse lasers which take a while to get there but deal a bit more damage.
However I've noticed recently that there is a lot more inaccuracy then there should be lol. It's probably a simple fix.

You should keep the plasma particle's accuracy as is, to make them seige or head-on weapons. This will make not OP and make strategy needed more. If you instead choose to just fix the accuracy, the problem is the speed of the projectiles is too slow, without enough spread to make it so the AI isn't just an aimbot but can still hit a moving target. Either of these solutions would also make the FPS part of the game better, because it's looks like it needs some work(only really used when the AI glitched out in the video)
