Last week four Team Dystopia members had the incredible opportunity to visit Valve's offices to show off the work we've done thus far and gather feedback and advice. During the week we spent in the Valve offices we ran three Dystopia play test sessions, each time getting invaluable feedback from the Valve guys. We took the feedback from each test session and toiled away in the office space Valve made available to us, implementing changes based on their advice. The amount of improvement Dystopia under went during the seven days at the Valve office was amazing. Our game play design is more solid and our game is far more accessible to new players.

All of Team Dystopia would like to heartily thank everyone at Valve for the time and effort which they dedicated to working with us on our game. It's impossible to put into words what an unbelievable experience it was and how much of a benefit it was to the entire Dystopia project.

From left to right: Mike Dassault, Caliban, Graincloud, Fuzzy, Teddy, Scott Dalton & Jess Cliffe.

How did you guys get this meeting? Did VALVe just rang you guys or somesuch? Regardless: now of course with VALVe's help, I'm expecting an uber-mod.. ;P

Gogogo!

Actually, they wanted to meet us after we had contacted them and arranged a few play tests on our test server. Also we had a lot of mapping/coding/distribution questions for them, so it was easier to ask them face to face.

It was really helpful talking to them, they gave us such good feedback on our mod (which we then got busy implementing in the Dystopia LAIR!). It was also frickin' cold in seattle. brrrrr

Y'know, if only they would reply at all to my e-mails, then I'm sure I could get a very interesting correspondence flowing with them VALVe chaps.. ;)

/starts working out a plan involving menacing puppies and creating a permanent brain uplink with the VALVe team..

I wonder.. would a USB vs. brain interface work? Ah well.. I'm sure Gabe wouldn't mind being a test subject..

Wow, that is amazing. Sounds like you are following in the steps of the DoD team, except about 100x faster. Well done.
