The wait is finally over! id Software released the Doom 3 SDK today. The software development kit provides game code and some example media source, so all you people can finally stop waiting and create some wicked Doom 3 mods before the HL2 people even get on their feet!

As you may have guessed if you looked through some of the Doom 3 script files, there is a mission pack for Doom 3 coming soon! This was spilled by id Software in an recent interview for the December issue of Computer Gaming World.
Also, Vicarious Visions, the developer of the Doom 3 Xbox port, has announced to Game Informer that they are nearly finished. Well! Now you know what to get your niece for Christmas, eh?
A mission pack? Oh, JOY! More nondescript hallways to run down shooting at monsters in the deark! ;)

I clicked the link to the ftp for the Doom 3 SDK and got a "Can not find server error". I do not know if it is something wrong on my end, their's, or something with the link, but thought I should post this.
The id FTP appears to have a 421 error -- too many users. I'll add some alternate links.....
The code looks easy enough to work with. Too bad nobody plays the game.
