It has been quite a few months since our last news update, sadly. Now, there are many reasons why this has occurred but, suffice it to say, development on the mod is back and we're completing the finishing touches to get the full mod out for all to enjoy.
FriendlyFire and W0dk4 have been working on improving the DX9 engine, both in terms of performance as well as adding new functionality to make our Star Wars universe look even better than before. I won't spoil the surprise of what they've been up to but I can personally say, it's awesome! These two have also been working on many of the core gameplay elements and getting them into action like dynamic hyperbuoys.
CheeseOnToast has been working on redoing every part of the graphical interface. I can't tell you how thrilled I am of the results and I'm sure you will be too! You won't even recognize it has a Freelancer HUD!
Since many of the larger projects have been completed, like the 3rd version of Kuat Drive Yards, Sizer has taken it upon himself to redo some of the models that needed some love. And, in typical Sizer fashion, they're stunning.
That's it for now. I promise all our fans you'll be seeing a flurry of updates soon to show off all that we've been doing! For those of you that played our demo, thank you as well! The data and feedback we received has been utterly invaluable!
To all our fans, if you like what you see, and have been playing, please don't forget to tell your friends, your communities you frequent and social sites like REDDIT/Twitter about this mod. Player word of mouth goes a long way and we'd appreciate any of the support we can get for this mod of ours! Thanks everyone!
I'll be in my bunk.
MMM I love myself some Victory Star Destroyer
Ok utter noob coming here to ask "Where can I get myself a copy of Freeworlds" as a friend of mine highly recommends this. I took the liberty to look at mods and found this project sometime ago. Also tracking this on his behalf as well. With it nearing completion I ought to start preparing.
Thanks!
Good questions. I recommend that you start here for your search of Freelancer copy: The-starport.net
If you don't find it there, well, I'm sure you can find it some other ways on the internet.
Wooohoohooo. And the best is. when the final release is online the Mod won't ends. This Team can make new ships new planets and new systems. Star Wars is big. and has a lot of stuff. only to find everything u need probably 2 months.
Oh yes, once the mod is out we're definitely going to be making additions/adjustments. We've planned to do that for some time now.
This is just a mere question, so don't get angry, lol. If I can't happen to find a copy of Freelancer anywhere, is it possible to pirate a version that actually works online?
I'm only considering doing this, IF I can't find a copy of Freelancer availabe in my country. I just want to play this mod so bad
I'm afraid that we do not condone piracy and as such cannot help you there.
I do not support piracy either but you have to understand that there might not be any other way.
Perhaps, but that doesn't change our stance. Even if we wanted to help, we are legally obligated not to do so.
Just buy it at amazon...
This link may help ya: The-starport.net
Thanks, Sushi but I, of course, checked the starport site before commenting.
Dnst, Amazon doesn't work where I live, or so I've heard from numerous people, and Freelancers out of stock there anyway.
I guess I'll find the game somehow
What's up with all the karma hate by the way? It was a mere question and ya'll went full-on madmode. I never said that I'd pirate the game.
I'm sure you'll be able to find it. We can't endorse or condone any type of pirating our MS can shut our little development down. We may be coming off as heavy handed, but you can understand that it's only to protect the mod that we've spent thousands of hours making.
I'd add that we don't have control over downvotes, just in case you thought we did.
Nah, it's okay, FriedlyFire. And I totally understand what you're talking about, Sushi. Wouldn't like to see this mod being shut down.
nice game
Wait, isn't it for TC freelancer demo enough?
