Beta 9.6
Lately with the nice weather (meaning more work for me) plus other things in life I have ended up being pretty busy. This means I couldn't properly announce the last update, so now below you can find the changelog for the Beta 9.6.
Fixed menu issue for the Bridge of Skulls quest.
Fixed issues with Bastards and Broken Things quest.
Fixed issues with Nights Watch troops.
Fixed issues with some Northern troops.
Fixed some spelling/grammar mistakes.
Fixed issues with Guild Masters not showing in the menu once you have met them.
Removed a menu item from Kings Landing for now to stop the 'not being able to leave' bug under certain circumstances.
Fixed issues at Honeyholt scene.
Fixed issues at Oldtown scene.
Fixed Three Towers scene.
Fixed Karhold scene.
Added an extra siege point to Bitterbridge.
Adjusted Ai mesh for Ashford Scene.
Adjustments made to Lannisport scene by Gokiller.
Added a new scene for Antlers Castle.
Fixed Lannisport arena.
Added a new scene for the Dreadfort.
Fixed Grassy Vale scene.
Fixed Tumbleton scene.
You can now take some of your men with you in the starting quests.
Added Highgarden scene created by Gokiller.
Fixed scene for Spicetown.
Adjusted Winterfell scene and made the ai mesh much better.
Added more banners for player selection.
Adjusted/added some music.
Some other tweaks/fixes/spelling fixes etc.
Whats To Come?
Several things are currently being worked on, some of which you can see below. The most notable however is probably the work being completed on the Wights and Whitewalkers.
Above is a current wip of a Whitewalker model currently being created by Mandible. We also have the code inserted for the special features related to these and the Wights. I will post another blog about this in the future though.
Other Commissioned Items
Ontop of the Whitewalker model we have had several other items created for the mod.
Above are a couple of items to enhance the scenes in the mod and make them much more immersive. We do have more but they are still too early in development to show yet.
Armours
Below you can see a few wip armour pieces currently in development. The first created by StamfordLion and the second by Kraggrim.
Again we have a few more pieces in development but they are not ready to show yet.
All the items above were either commissioned by using donations kindly given to help develop the mod, or have been funded by Robertidaniel. So a massive thanks to him and to all that have donated so far. If you would like to see more of the above then please do visit our Patreon page which can be found by heading over to our forums.
Whats Left?
The proposed roadmap currently looks like this;
Beta 10
Introduce all features to make the mod feature complete.
- Fix the kingsguard feature.
- Add the ability for wights and whitewalkers to only get hurt by certain weapons.
- Add Wight and Whitewalker armies.
- Flesh out 'having children' feature.
Quests.
- Add Dany and a small quest for her.
- Complete the main questline.
Other improvements.
- Add new troop trees for some Essos cultures.
- Add new troop trees for different parts of Dorne.
- Add all commissioned items thus far.
- Fix the mod options and preferences screen.
- Add other commands to the formations battle menu.
- Add a wierwood scene.
- Replace the Sept scenes for new ones.
- Finish all the face codes.
- Adjust the after battle options to be dependent upon your religion.
- Adjust being able to read from @Septrys to @Citadels
- Add additional trainers so the player is able to recruit faction specific units.
- Update random/scripted wars.
After all the above is complete i plan to release several hotfixes which will complete the mod and bring us to a final version. I would like to stress however the point of a final release is to complete all the major fixes and to release a completely bug free mod. I shall most possibly carry on creating scenes and adding commissioned items if donations allow.

Would be awesome but without dragons it's just not cool
Dragons have been overdone in popular nerd culture, anyways. The last thing that we need in this perfectly fine mod is cliche, and dragons are the embodiment of cliche.
Honestly, I think that the dragons could be done. Maybe the flying would be difficult, but in Chronicles of Might and Magic, there are dragons, albeit bad looking ones, and in the Phantasy md and the Wheel of Time mod there is a magic that can be used to simulate the firebreathing. However, that said, even with those, it would be difficult to properly implement.
I personally would like to see them put in. I don't think they've been overdone. In fact, I think they've faded out of pop culture, what with the wave of vampires and other sorts of creatures. I think that pop culture is shifting to a decidedly more fae point, rather than the dragons and unicorns style.

what does he mean have children feature
There is a current feature that lets you have children that will (i think) eventually grow up into companions but it doesn't really work right now. I've tried it three times and even though it says my wife had the baby, the kid never showed up even after years of game time.
Riverlands not at war with the westerlands at the start of game or at all? is there something i'm missing? help would be appreciated

Might be a problem in other cities too, but especially in Pentos and Kings Landing, the defenders often (or always) spawn in places the ai pathing doesn't understand, and so the battle cannot end. Pentos especially, the spawning boat for the attackers often drowns a few people, they get stuck on part of the dock, and during the starvation sortie out of Pentos, the defenders all spawn behind invisible walls and barriers that the ai can't comprehend. In King's Landing, some defenders just spawn in impassable alleyways.
Great mod, I love everything outside the sieges, which have plenty of realism but are incredibly difficult sometimes.

I hope there will be more special troops available in this mod and recruitable!Frey, karstack, stark, lannister, mormont, bolton, tully, queens guard of florent (i think), kingsguard,etc.. and more companions :D
Playing the newest beta 9.6 and on the quest "bolster the black" but it doesn't give me a interaction with rob stark. Any ideas ?

2 questions: Firstly the 9.6 patch won't overwrite my 9.5 version. no matter where i place it in or on the 9.5 folder it simply will not overwrite, it just keeps appearing as it's own independent folder. Secondly, will there be more flags added, ones that won't take away another house's banner? I love the Baratheon's but the only Baratheon banner I can take would rob the stormlands of their banner :/
PS- Fantastic work; out of all the Game of Thrones mods I've played over a range of games, this is the absolute pinnacle. Your effort really shows. Thank you.

So... update? At least a status or progress update would be nice.
I mean, it's been 5 months since we've heard from you guys...
This is a great mod. As I said in other comments though, is there any way to balance out the troop trees a bit more? Right now, the Iron Islands gets overrun pretty fast every playthrough (Day 150-200 usually). Simply put, their troop tree puts them at a significant disadvantage, especially against a competent player. They lack strong missile troops and cavalry. All my playthroughs so far they get overrun by the Riverlands.
Secondly, the Westerlanders are total BS. The crossbow spam really ruins battles. It is very hard to play given that crossbows a.) out damage bows and b.) outrange bows significantly. This is also not helped by the fact that the Northmen, for whatever reason, don't have shields on their footmen. It is just not fun playing when EVERY (I checked eight of them) Lannister armies are at least 40% one type of crossbowmen. Basically, you have no chance against 70+ crossbowmen on the field, especially since their arbalesters (usually half their crossbowmen) are almost as good as melee troops, especially since they have shields.
In short, Westerlands and Iron Islands need significant balance. Giving Iron Islands a solid missile unit would help a lot and be lore friendly. For the Westerlands, maybe take away their low tier crossbow unit and replace it with a regular bow unit (leaving their only crossbow unit as arbalesters).
For the record, the character I am playing with is 10 Ironflesh, 10 Power Strike, full heavy armor (55 Body, 40 something head). I still lose every time because volley 1 takes out my shield. Volley two drops my health by two thirds. Volley three kills me. If you took out the low tier crossbows, this would not be an issue and the battles would actually be challenging and skill based. Also lore friendly for the TV Series anyway as the Lannisters had plenty of bowmen.
Thanks for the info. I have adjusted the lower tiered units to use a weaker crossbow. I have also slightly adjusted all missile items and made throwing axes a little better for the Iron Islands.
Thanks for the quick response. I think that those fixes ought to go a long ways towards fixing some of the balance. Can't wait to see White Walkers...my shiny new Valyrian Steel two hander can't wait to meet one.
Like I said before, this is a great mod. Only game out there that makes me really feel like I am in the Game of Thrones. Though I still can't find Sansa Stark, no matter how many tournaments I win in Winterfell; Robb Stark keeps a jealous guard over his sisters...
Будет ли сильнее заселён Эсос, в плане городов, замков и деревень? Да и Вестеросу не помешало немного по гуще заселить его Городами, замками, деревнями.
А дополнения после бета10 , будут выходить не как патч к примеру бета10.0.1 или всё равно придётся заново с каждым "DLC" начинать игру? Ещё из ACOK мне понравилась штука с распределением войск по баллам:
всего 5 баллов (3- бала тяжёлые 2 средние 1 лёгкие). К примеру когда становишься королём там выбираешь 3 бала на пехоту, следовательно она будет тяжёлой и остаётся 2 бала следовательно кавалерия и стрелки будут лёгкими. Или к примеру 2 бала на кавалерию и пехоту, следовательно она будет средней и 1 бал на стрелков, они следовательно будут лёгкими. Так сказать баланс армий в королевстве, хотя бы в собственном. Ну или хотя бы какая нибудь похожая бы система была, было бы здорово.
И внести бы штрафы к примеру к метанию или стрельбе или к бегу ну понятно короче за тяжёлые доспехи и соответственно войска в тяжёлых доспехах по характеристикам(Сила, железная кожа, мощный удар ну и.т.д) были бы сильнее чем средние или лёгкие соответственно.
