Well this is the big update. I really hope this is the last official update... I was not going to update but there were a few things I wanted to address.
First off, welcome fans! Thank you for voting us into the top 100 mods!!! When I first started this mod in mid 2007 it was supposed to be a semi private project. My first goal was to create a mod set with the Yuuzhan Vong as a faction. It would have been epic. I was not concerned with a clone wars mod as my friends who were on the staff at IA2 were making what was to be a great mod. However, as time passed I was contacted by one of the staff on that mod and was told that production had slowed to a snails pace. It was looking grim..So I started making my own clone wars mod and put my vong mod on hold. Shortly after all this.. I was being told that IA2 was basically ceasing. I offered to take it over and was granted permission to do so. Now I admit, I have blown some release dates and for that I am sorry. I broke my own rules several times and put out dates. The reason for the missed dates is simple. 1. Real Life 2. The Tree theory.
Those of you who mod know what this is. Those that dont let me explain. For everything you add ort change, causes many other things to be changed that need to be changed, or edited. This grows exponentially as you add things or change things (like a tree growing branches). So everytime I added in a unit or a idea etc, I realized, I had to create new projectiles, and new SFX, and new icons, and new text, and the projectiles needed new particles, and the unit needed special movement SFX, etc etc, and so on. Lets just say that this mod was a MASSIVE undertaking to the say the least. That being said, I want to thank all our fans. I think I am blessed with some of the most patient and fun group of people around. Most of you have been a pleasure to deal with, chat with, kick ideas around with, and just get feedback with. You are the only reason at this point that this mod is still going. This is your mod as much as it is mine. I keep referring to this as a mod, but this project is much more than that. You will see when you first load this mod up, it really is closer to a expansion or a new game entirely. No, we dont have tons of useless scripts that serve no purpose once so ever. Game play will be almost identical but with some new changes. The one thing that most of you have overwhelmingly stated was you wanted to kick CIS or Republic butt, 24/7. Well our focus is indeed on butt kicking. No complicated production charts, or strategies. You will build a fleet and wipe out the enemy. The battles will be large, intense, and destructive.
Our galatic map is very large. Not gigantic, but large, I felt this was more to give the sense of you moving troops across a galaxy rather than a large pond. I did add in some cool new game play features for skirmish mode. I also added in some new "Strategic Structures" that either help your faction or help your war effort. Each has their own drawbacks. Mining cant be done on every wold. You can mine on planets that contain ore or something to mine. So cash will be tight. As far as the GC's go each side has several "key" planets that you need for your war machine. Those of you that follow the SW universe will know right away which planets those are. The AI in this mod WILL attack those planets and will hit them often. For the first time you can actually build planetary defenses that actually work. They are EXPENSIVE... but believe me. You will be glad you invested in them. The Republics W-165 Planetary turbolaser is a fleet buster. I mean it is able to blow the biggest of the CIS ships to pieces in one shot. To deal with this both sides can conduct commando raids to take out these things. (the CIS have their own version of these also) Only thing is, only BX commando droids, Jedi, Sith, ARC Troopers, or Deltasquad can run these missions. Planets have new bonuses that you will actually want to defend. Some planets for example grant "Darkside" or "Lightside" bonuses to you Jedi or Sith. These you will want to defend.
I have been pretty much going alone on this mod, and I hope that this mod lives up to your expectations. I think it will, which is why I have been spamming screens. What you see is what you get.. no doctored photos, or honey shots. These are right from standard gameplay.
I know some of you have been asking why all the pics of the CIS. Well, a few months ago you were all asking "Why only pics of the Republic". This time I have posted another massive pic update...
Do me a favor guys and gal. Please STOP asking for dates. The 12/31 date is there as that is the absolute worst case. Also stop asking us to add in new units. After the mod is released we can discuss some new options... but for now stop asking PLEASE!

This mod is designed for higher end PC's If you can barely run stock FOC you wont be able to run this mod. Period. If you can run games like COH or GTA4, or Crysis then you should be 100% good to go.
When you say "If you can run games like COH or GTA4, or Crysis then you should be good to go", do you mean running RaW on highest settings? Or do you mean lowest settings? If you do mean lowest settings, that is a bit scary. But other than that, I'm extremely excited about the mod. Good to hear that the 12/31/10 is a WORST case- scenario (hopefully).
Highest, he just means there's likely going to be NO framerate issues at all. Otherwise you may see some but they won't be game-breaking.

I have experience some slowness on 2 times.. and each there were maybe 500 or more gighters and and maybe 40 cap ships on screen at once. On land.. i had once with as massive battle say a few hundred clones plus droids and assorted vehicles.
in 2007 i moved from my hometown were i grew up to a place where i knew no one. so EAW and FOC were my only friends for a period of time. i had an idea, "why didnt lucas arts make a clone wars based strategy game first? i mean it came out right after ROTS". anyway about a year passed and i decided to look on the internet and see if anyone made a game like that.it was that moment when i stumbled upon RAW and AI2 and opened the door to modding. (i had no idea what a mod was untill i found RAW) anyways its been four years since that magical day, i now have friends in my new town and ive become an experienced map maker and i owe it all to u Z. your an inspiration, u had an idea and made it real. u inspired me to keep chasing my dreams. RAW isnt just your brain child, its a prophacy. instead of the second coming of christ, this is the first coming of a true masterpiece. you are mcheal angelo and Raw is your sisteen chapple

The difference Nomada.. is you will get slowness on RaW when have a insane amount of ships on screen at once. Your mod lags with 2 units... gg

I have not insulted anyone... or any mods. I praise work of many mod teams. I have the utmost respect for the Stargate Team, the UEAW Team, the ORAW team, and the CW Team.. I am just not a fan of massive lag, and low res skins sharpened 1000x. Now if you wish to continue this discussion I advise you move it to PM's.

If it is not insult my work, what is this? I feel that before you critic the work from me you should release anything and next we can compare because if we compare your screenshots with my screenshots, nobody will see nothing worse on my mod.

Give it a rest. I told you to continue this via PM's. Where did I say anything about your mod? Where in all 5k comments here have I referenced your mod specifically? I don't think I have once mentioned it here nor would I. This is the ModDB area for RaW not Nomada's mod. As far as releasing mods, I have released several over the years. I just choose to release RaW when its ready. I prefer to release finished mods, not half-assed mods. If you choose to release buggy betas, then that is your problem, not mine. If you are assuming that I am speaking about your project then perhaps you need to get over yourself. If I wanted to mention it I would, but honestly it is not worth mentioning in my opinion. I am entitled to my opinion. When RaW is released it is your right to come here after playing it and if you so choose you may post your opinion of my mod. However, that being said I then have the right to delete your comments as I see fit :)As far as comparing mods, etc well there is no comparison. Played yours, and I just was not impressed. I have to say Nett40s CW mod is far better put together in my opinion. If you are asking me for my opinion specifically about your mod then I will give it. I don't like it. I don't like your skins. I don't like the way you rigged your models, they are too shiny.I don't like how you crammed 600 units in with no sense of purpose or reason to them other than to cram them in. I don't like your GUI and your mega font across the front. It looks shoddy and cheap. I don't like your attempts at Kitbashing models such as the MAAT, or the Republic AT-AT. This is my opinion. If you want to know what I think you should do. I think you should take a look at ORAW for ideas on how to put a large mod together. Those guys seem to know what they are doing. Now, please respect my wishes and take a hint and continue this via PM not on these public boards.

But you are speaking from a lot of lag with two units on screen but you have not proof from all the other bad things and if we compare them with your own work, we can not see great differences. Even more there are a lot of things equal, do you want comparations?

What will happen to the players with lower computers? do not confuse me, I accept that you can not add high resolution textures and a lot of things if you go to play on a old computer. But you speak bad from my mod by this and you are making the same, even more because you are ignoring deliberately to the people with poor computers, at least I have made a version from my mod with lower requeriments for them.
Really, when you have showed us nothing more than screenshots and when your same words tell us different things..........I have not words for you. People can judge by themself.
I do not go to use pm with you, all the people must see how you speak from other mods. Specially from my mod.

come on please - your contradicting yourself if you are saying you are not attacking/insulting anyone. This is a veiled reference to Alpha blue and its scripts surely ! - sorry mate but you've just lost my respect.
JC, I have told you in private I am extremely disappointed with you. More so than anyone in this community. You want to air dirty laundry? As I told you on MSN 3 weeks ago, I feel you sold your soul to the devil. Your mod is just one of many that seem focused on Lua over content. So when I say useless scripts, I am referring to your mod and several others that have gotten away from content driven to Lua based. I am sorry but thats not what people want. You ask any of these fans here and they will tell you they want content hands down over some script that lest you play pazzak. At one time SOTE was content driven and you had some good content..now I am not even sure. You have chosen your friends... you have basically caused a rift with X over drama with one of your German lua coders..who bent rules on MY site to post some screens. Rather than taking responsibility for it you get mad at X and Ris. Maybe I need to re-evaluate who I have on my team over there.
As for you Nomada... Anyone who has a modern PC will be able to run this mod. I have Intel Quad 4 CPU and 4gb if memory. I have a PCI video card with 512mb memory. My PC can handle this mod just fine. If people have my specs or similar or better then they are fine.

Evaluate what you want.. This disappointment goes both ways. You have over stated your opinion on what you think about Lua - saying the scripts don't do anything, which is a complete lie. People would not go to the trouble to make these scripts if they did 'not' do anything would they ?! - your moderators on eeaw are ALWAYS bending the rules and only moderate when it suits them. You NEVER listen to me either - taking more notice of other people. I have NOT sold out to anyone. You choose to believe what you want. I suggest to people not to listen to the anti Lua script references here, and judge for yourself in mods that use scripting language to run new ability's and features in their mods. X is a private matter between me and him please keep out of it. Thus to say when some one screws up on some thing yes I do complain about it, but that's between me and X.

Over the years I have seen countless modders and players wondering if it was possible to re-implement the diplomacy features in EAW. Now we can do it. And that is not what people want? And even that pazzaak feature is a nice little detail. And the best is it doesn't even hurt SOTE. Why you ask? Because SOTE HAS the content PLUS those little details that make the game different.
By the way, Astharoth is French, not German.
And he is a genius. People like him help to create the awesome mods of tomorrow, not yesterday's mass unit mods. His features are well planned and they are a great addition to the game play. And when features are planned and implemented like that then LUA IS content.

Well, I´m not here for to make a selection between who is the best mod. But EAW community is formed by people from many countries and I find very racist differentiate people by their nationality. I have found on all them fantastic works. On Alpha Blue there are many of these people as Smallpox, Astharoth, TAU, JesusFreak7, Sidious Invader and many more have help us making many good things which they can not be ignored.
Z, I have not problems if you need a powerful computer for to run your mod or not. My point was because you changed your opinion so fast. Because for many time you told us that a old pentium iv could handle the mod. You always speak about how bad if I needed a powerful computer for to run my mod and it appears as if you are now on the same position which you said as bad for many times.
Next as you have not defense and you do not want accept that you can not add high resolution detail to this game without to increase computer requeriments, you start a attack with thousands of lies about my work, this work which people can download on ModDB and they can play it. How must we judge to you now? obviously a good judgement can not be possible.
A P4 can run RaW.. if you have a halfway ok video card and you dont run at max res.. but you will get some slowdowns with large battles. People with more modern PC's will not get these slowdowns in any aspect of the mod. JC, as I discussed with Small Pox earlier.. you go ahead and do whatever you want. Its your mod not mine. I for one do not want 1000 lua scripts running in the background and I can tell you hands down that our fans here dont give a rats *** about about these features either. If they did.. I would implement them. As far as them doing anything why use a script to hide part of a mesh when a decent rigger can do it in 3ds max.. why use lua to add in more than 2 abilities when the game already allows this.. without lua.

But you know? I do not understand because you must compare your mod with other mods showing as the work from others as very bad work, as if it was diabolic.
Specially when if we compare your previous words with the last, we will see how you have added many of these things on your mod. Specially when if you have added a campaign and missions to your mod, how have you added them without lua codes? please do not try deceive me, you can not a grand campaign without them.

I would have to agree with some of the thing Z has said, luas to remove things and add thing to models that could be done via a proper rigging or re-rig, would be better it will not draw unnecessary processing power to use said unit...

What happened to the saying, "If you don't have anything nice to say, then don't say it." Can't you guys be reasonable? one time i had changed pop cap for clones on nett10s mod to zero and made 50 and there were tons medium lagwill my computer run this??
probly a bit of lag but if you put it to low settings i think it should be fairly all right.
