Version 1.4 has been release of the DE Normal Map Generator including these features among others:
- various fixes for ati/nvidia cards on linux systems
- script updated to Blender3D 2.41
- added Texture Preview Window for quickly inspecting your generated maps
The DE Normal Map Generator allows to create Normal Maps for the use in Game Applications or 3D Editors like Blender3D. Supported are the generation of Geometry Normal Maps (from Hi-Res Meshes), Displacement Maps and merging Detail Maps.
Changed: Available are sources for unix/windows systems and precompiled unix/windows binaries.

The windows bin i compiled needs .3ds loader or something :P

sorry, i have no access to *3DSMax or things like that. i can though publish the file format of the .dim file so somebody having that soft can do an exporter for it. more i can't do from where i am.
Or make a 3ds loader :)

there will be most probably anyways a large change in the next release which ( hopefully ) makes the export script unnecessary anyways. i have to check though some stuff out first. so it might be a bit of a waste if you do an exporter for 3dsmax right now.
