Post news Report RSS Dangerous walks at night on K'Tharsis

In the previous update I mentioned that it’s not only dangerous to leave the settlements at nights, but the walks themselves might be rather challenging. Unlike other games, Exoplanet: FC’s nights are dark – perhaps, they are even the darkest of all those nights in other games.

In the previous update I mentioned that it’s not only dangerous to leave the settlements at nights, but the walks themselves might be rather challenging. Unlike other games, Exoplanet: FC’s nights are dark – perhaps, they are even the darkest of all those nights in other games. Therefore it’s almost impossible to have a night stroll without special equipment. The equipment is what I am going to talk about in this entrance.

I’m sure most our followers remember the static flashlight Sunflower. It is charged during the daylight with solar power and uses the accumulated energy at night, lightening all around. A player can always pick up the device and put it anywhere he wants, or even disassemble it and use only the parts with lamps, forming a torch-club. So he gets a melee weapon that can still light the way. Just recently we added the lamps to the club and it can be seen on the screenshots. However, such a torch only lights some area around you – not especially big one – so you should always be on guard: who knows what or who can hide in the darkness which is all around your lonely spotlight wandering in the wild and dangerous world…

Also, in one of the very early updates we were talking about our visual realization for the flashing fire from weapons. We were able to create a dimensional fire of a certain shape. Recently we got back to this task and implemented the fire to the current weapons, also providing the flashes with a light source. Thus, when shooting, a certain radius around the player gets illuminated by a bright light. If you happen to get into the night shootout, it will look very impressive!

All these little findings change the perception of the game significantly. However, the light is not all we’ve been working on, so please read about other improvements in the next updates.

PS: By the way, what are the darkest and the most captivating nights that you remember from other games ?
